BREEDER / OWNER / HANDLER COMPETITION (BOH)

ONTARIO BREEDERS ALL BREED SHOW ONLY

(ALL THREE DAYS)

Rules for Breeder / Owner / Handler Competition

(restricted to amateur competitors)

Baby Puppies are not eligible for this competition

Breeder / Owner / Handler Box must be checked on entry form (A * will indicate each BOH dog listed in both the catalogue and on the Ring Steward

sheets.)

1. This is open to all non-professional breeder / owner / handlers. Professional defined

as anyone who has been hired to assist a handler or paid to handle or received

remuneration or a licensed / permit judge. Dogs must be BOH throughout the

competition.

2. Judging of BOH will take place after Breed Judging Competition unless automatic.

3. BOH Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs eligible to compete for BB.

4. If the Best of Breed dog is BOH it will automatically be the BOH BB.

5. If ineligible, then the next highest BOH placement will compete against the eligible dogs

of the opposite sex.

6. Should none of the BB competitive dogs be BOH then any BOH dogs (not directly or

indirectly defeated in the classes by an BOH dog) will be invited back.

7. The BOH BB dogs will compete for Best BOH in Group immediately after Regular

Group Judging.

8. Should the Regular Group 1st dog be BOH then it will be automatically BOH in Group.

9. If no BOH places in the Group (1-4) then all BB BOH dogs will be called into the ring

for BOH Group Judging.

10. If the BIS dog is BOH, then it will automatically be BOH BIS

11. A flat ribbon will be offered for Best BOH in Breed, a Rosette for Best BOH in Group, a

prize for BOH in Group (Saturday & Sunday) and a Rosette and prize for Best BOH in

Show.

CHAMPIONS & CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS

SECTION 1: A dog awarded WINNERS at a championship show held under these Dog Show

Rules shall be credited with a number of championship points (ranging from 0 to 5) and the

determination of the number of championship points to be credited to a dog awarded

WINNERS shall be as provided hereunder.

SECTION 2: The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to

be allocated a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as follows:

To determine the numbers of championship points earned by a dog awarded WINNERS total

all the dogs in competition which the dog defeated, directly or indirectly, for the highest of the

following official breed awards: Winners, Best of Winners, Best of Breed or Best of Opposite

Sex and then consult the schedule set forth above. The new system provides for additional

points (provided that the dog has defeated another as listed hereunder:

A class dog awarded Best in Show at an all-breed championship show will be credited with

five points inclusive of any points earned at the breed or group level. In no case, may a dog

earn more than five points at any single show.

ATTENTION ALL FOREIGN EXHIBITORS

To obtain an ERN simply do the following:

Send a photocopy of the dog's registration certificate reflecting current ownership - with

a written request for an ERN. Include full payment in the amount of $57.75. Accounts

may be paid with personal or business cheque,money order, Visa or Mastercard. For Non-Members please note that if paying by cheque, the cheque must be certified. Non-

residents of Canada please note that discounted cheques or money orders will not be

accepted due to fluctuating currency rates. Provide us with your full return address.

Faxed requests will be accepted. Please include your VISA/MasterCard number, expiry date cardholder's name and signature. An ERN must be obtained within 30 day of

obtaining points, awards or scores to avoid cancellation. If factors beyond your control

prohibits this or presents a problem, please send a written request for a 30 day extension.

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. The Club and Diana Edwards Show Services will not be responsible of cash sent

through the mail.

2. Returned cheques do not constitute a valid entry fee. A collection fee of $35.00

will be added by OBA in addition to any bank charges for each returned cheque.

3. There is no refund for duplicate entries. Every effort will be made to find all

duplicate entries, however if the entry has been processed and appears in the

official catalogue, no refund will be made.

4. Entry fees shall not be refunded in the event that the dog is absent, excused by a

Veterinarian or Judge, disqualified or barred from competition by action of the

bench Committee.

5. If because of riot, civil disturbance or acts of God, it is impossible to open or

complete the show, no refund of entries shall be made.

6. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs, regardless of how or

by whom the entries were made. Change or cancellation of any entry after closing

time is prohibited.

7. The Club reserves the right to refuse any entry subject to CKC rules.

8. Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of Judging. Dogs not

required for further judging will be excused. Judges will not wait for any dog

holding up a class. Owners/Agents are responsible to have their dogs present

when their classes are called to be judged.

9. Exhibitors are requested to keep their grooming and crating areas clean and tidy.

If space is at a premium, exhibitors must remove exercise pens if requested by the

Show Superintendent.

10. It shall be the duty and obligation of the show giving club to ensure that a judge is

not subject to indignities. The Conformation Show Committee shall promptly report

to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall

have the authority to such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating

that this has occurred.

11. The OBA will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors but

will not be responsible for or assume liability in the event of accident, or other

misfortunes to dogs, exhibitors or patrons

12. The Show Superintendent will be in complete charge of the show, which will be

governed by CKC rules.

BUILDING INFORMATION • The building will open Thursday at 2 PM, and will closed every night at 10 PM.

• No private exercise pens will be allowed after the opening of the show.

NON-MEMBER PARTICIPATION FEE The Non-Member Participation Fee applies to dogs wholly owned by a resident of Canada who is not a member of the CKC; it is not applicable to CKC members or dogs co-owned with a CKC member. In order for the title to be awarded, the non-member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the Non-Member Participation Fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level. (For a Membership application, please go to www.ckc.ca under CKC Services and Forms On-Line). The Non-Member Participation Fee is fee paid in the calendar year (January – December) in which the dog achieved its title and/or titles.
