LEGISLATIVECOMMITTEE/EVENTGUIDELINESSponsoringConferencesarethosewhocontributetoevents

PROGRAM

1.TexasImpactwillberesponsibleforcurrentactionspeakersinvolvedingovernmentalaffairs.(Committeewillsuggestareaswhichtheywishtopursue).

2. PlanningTeamwillberesponsibleforallspeakerspertainingtomattersofUnitedMethodistWomensissues.

3. MorningPraiseandmealblessingswillbetheresponsibilityofateammember,requestingdifferentconferencestoparticipate.

PLANNINGTEAM

1. LegislativeEventChairpersonwillbeelectedattheJanuaryPlanningTeammeetingtoservenomorethantwoyears,consecutively.

2. MemberswillconsistofLegislativeEventChairperson,SocialActionCoordinatorfromeachconference,PresidentoftheSouthwestTexasConference,TreasurerofSouthwestTexasConference,Registrar,andLocalArrangementsChairperson.

3. SouthwestTexasConferenceSecretaryofProgramResourceshastheresponsibilityoforderingandsellingliteratureattheLegislativeEventandattendingtheAugustmeeting.

4. Committeemeetingdates:April,earlyAugust,andearlyJanuary5. Arrangementsforthehotel,food,etc.willbetheresponsibilityoftheevent

chairpersonwiththeassistanceoftheentirecommittee.

6. LegislativeEventChairpersonisresponsibleforperson(s)toprepareandservebreakfastonTuesdaymorningofoddnumberedyears,whenthelegislatureisinsession(ifcommitteedecidestohaveaLegislativeBreakfast).

REGISTRAR

1. RegistrarisresponsibleforregistrationofUnitedMethodistWomenandwillsendoutconfirmationletters.Sheshallsendmoneytotreasurerasreceived.

2. RegistrarwillcontacttheAustinDistrictPresidentforairportshuttleonopeningdayofmeeting.

3. Registrarwillasktwoorthreepersonstoassistinregistrationatthemeetingifneeded.

FINANCIAL

1. Expensesshallbepaidforguestspeakers,asrequired,includingaccommodations,food,andtravel(reimbursedattheSouthwestTexasUnitedMethodistWomenrate).

2. Treasurerwillkeepcompleterecordsandsupplywrittenreportstoallteammembers.

3. RegistrationfeetotheEventwillbepaidfortheLegislativeEventchairperson,SouthwestTexasConferencepresident,SWTConferencetreasurer,localarrangementschairperson,andSWTConferencesecretaryofprogramresources.ThesepersonslistedshallpaytheadministrationfeetotheEvent.

4. ConferencesareresponsibleforexpensesoftheirSocialActionCoordinatorsorrepresentativestocommitteemeetingsandtheEvent.

5. TheLegislativeEventregistrationfeewillbedeterminedannually.6. SponsoringConferenceswillcontribute$30.00perdistrictannually.7. ThemembershipfeeoftheEventChairpersontotheTexasImpactBoardof

DirectorswillbepaidfromtheLegislativeEventPlanningTeamfunds.

8. AnannualcontributionshallbemadetoTexasImpacttohelpdefrayexpensesincurredincoordinatingtheEvent.ThisamountwillbedeterminedannuallybythePlanningTeam.
