Dr. Jared B. Jobe, Manager for Recruitment and Outreach, Office of the Director, Division of CancerControl and Population Sciences, National Cancer Institute, will be giving a lecture called, "Funding andPublishing Opportunities in Community-Based Participatory Research". Prior to coming to NCI, Dr.Jobe was a program manager at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute.

The talk will review current and possible future funding opportunities in Community-Based ParticipatoryResearch at the National Institutes of Health, discuss issues in peer review of CBPR grant applications,discuss issues in publishing CBPR research, and provide examples of currently funded CBPR prevention

projects in minority communities.

High Blood Pressure Research 2010 - Scientific Sessions

The American Heart Associations High Blood Pressure Research Conference is a two-and-one-halfday scientific program with more than 450 presentations focusing on recent advances in hypertensionresearch. Considered one of the most important medical meetings on this subject in the world, theconference includes oral and poster presentations selected from abstracts submitted by clinical and

basic researchers from 20 countries. These are all followed by discussions led by leading authorities. The conference willprovide an educational program for physicians and research investigators that will enhance their knowledge advance their skillsand apprise them of the latest developments in research pertaining to hypertension and its relationship to stroke, cardiac disease,kidney function/renal diseases, obesity and genetics.

2010 Conference: Quality Health Care for Culturally Diverse Populations

The Seventh National Conference will highlight major policy initiatives and their implications for improving care for diversepatients and communities, including:
