ULTERION ® 5060 MP MODIFIED POLYMER De-linting Water repellency Scuff resistance Board smoothness Improved dry strength Improved porosity Base coat for premium topcoats Oil and grease topcoats Release topcoats Product Description Ulterion ® 5060 MP is a modified polymer designed as a film former for use at the size press and calendar stack, or used as a binder in coating applications. Ulterion ® 5060 MP xhibits excellent viscosity stability in all applications. It is not affected due to the physical stress of high- pressure sizing. Rheological properties are excellent for sizing under covenentional or high- pressure systems. These properties result in improved machine runnabilty and higher quality paper and paperboard. Ulterion ® 5060 MP is completely compatible with all commonly used additives in size press, and coating applications. (21CFR 176.170, and 21CFR 176.180) Paper & paperboard sizing Application Methods Ulterion ® 5060 MP is easily dispersed either through batch or jet cooking. It can be jet cooked at temperatures between 132°C - 154°C at solids level of 15% or higher. It may also be batch cooked at temperatures above 90.5°C, and hold at least 15 minutes at solids levels up to 10%. Cooking solids should be kept as low as possible to optimize polymer solubilization.
