UI/UX Designer Picterra, Lausanne, Switzerland, or Berlin, Germany - Full time Company description: Picterra is a start-up company based in the EPFL Innovation Park building a web platform leveraging cutting-edge machine learning/AI to allow users to extract and deliver actionable insights out of geospatial imagery. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a creative and passionate UX Designer. Job description : We are looking for an experienced UI/UX Designer to turn our AI platform into an easy-to-use product for our customers. You are creating a design strategy that translates complex product architecture into intuitive user workflows. The role will be based either in Lausanne, Switzerland, or Berlin, Germany and implies remote work and occasional traveling. UI/UX Designer responsibilities include: - Gathering and evaluating user requirements, in collaboration with product managers and engineers - Conducting user interviews - Designing the user flows, wireframes, interface, interactions and mockups to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas through consideration of business requirements and technical feasibility - Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps - Brainstorming, proposing and designing creative solutions that could take the products to the next level - Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like - Create final visual designs and collaborate with developers on execution - Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness) - Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback Which traits contribute to your success? - Pronounced Interaction and Visual Design skills, including the use of a diverse set of software such as Sketch, Adobe CS, Invision as well as good experience with MS Office - Experience with Agile software development processes and methodologies and fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques - Fluent communication skills in English, both spoken and written. French is a plus. - Proven ability as a solid hands-on practitioner demonstrated through a diverse body of work (an online interactive portfolio -we would love to see how you present your work and how you designed the UX on your own website-) - An embodiment of a positive attitude and motivation to deliver the highest quality work in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment - An aspiration for making awesome things!
