The manufacturing process of KRONE excellent Twine

KRONE excellent Twine:Twines are usually based on synthetic polypropylene, which is derived from crude oil. The retail price of polypro-pylene is down to a variety of factors, including the current crude oil price, the current capacity of utilization of the raw material manufacturer and the overall market demand.

Friendly to the environmentKRONE twines are food grade and environmentally friendly. In addition, a special stabilizing process makes the twine very resistant to UV and weather exposure. The color of the twine affects neither its quality or its ecological compatibility. After 3 to 4 years of outdoor storage, the twine begins to decay without leaving residues or releasing toxins.

How can you tell a twine is good quality?Background information on markets and products

Baler twine is marketed by two types of manufacturers. One one hand, there are farm machinery manufacturers who market original baler twinethat is made for their own machinery and offers the most dependable

performance and optimum results. On the other hand, there are manuf-acturers who are not farm machinery manufacturers and who market these consumables under separate labels.

Consider the following aspects when buying twine:

A high-quality twine will hold - even on high-density bales.The strain is highest in the knot. If knot strength is low, the twine will

most likely tear here.

Resistance to tearingThe higher the claimed resistance to tearing, the higher the overall twine stability and strength. Ordinary twines with a low resistance to tearing are often unable to hold high bale densities. KRONE excellent Twine HDP X-treme offers a resistance of 700 lbf which makes it one of the stron-gest twines in the market.

Knot strengthKnot strength expresses the knot’s strength to resist force (expressed in lbf) before it tears. On the baler, the twine is worked hardest in the knot, which is due to the knotting process. Therefore, this is the area that is most susceptible to tearing. In practice, standard knot strength today is approx. 480 lbf; the KRONE excellent twines offer knot strengths of 550 lbf (MultiBale) to 700 lbf (HDP X-treme).

film tape.

Optimum fibrillation ensures tight knotsFibrillation is a separate step within the production process, where the twine is spun from film tape after this received special treatment. Best possible fibrillation produces very robust twine and tight knotting.

Ideal spoolingBaler twine should unroll easily and uniformly. Daily checks on the spoo-ling process assure KRONE excellent twine performs absolutely trouble-free inside the baler.

The manufacturing of KRONE excellent Edgenet wrap

ProductionThe high-density polyethylene granules are heated in an extruder until molten. Then the material is blown through a jet and into a bubble shape. Once cooled, the film is wound onto rolls and then cut into thin tapes. These tapes are stretched and fed to looms where they are manufactured into KRONE excellent net wrap, following a unique and patented process. At the end of this step, the finished net is rolled into rolls of different lengths.

Good edge to edge spread is one quality of a high-performance net wrap. Additional qualities are:

Smooth unrolling and guaranteed length:KRONE excellent nets is uniform and therefore unrolls trouble-free and smoothly to deliver the guaranteed number of metres on the roll. You can easily verify the actual metres on the roll. By figuring out how many bales a roll will yield and then com-pare this result with the number of bales you actually wrapped in the field.

End marking:All excellent net wrap features a green end marking that visibly indcates to the operator on the last 230‘ of the roll is approaching.

UV-stability:UV-stability is important when storing bales outside. KRONE excellent net wrap benefits from a special coating that offers UV-protection for up to one year.

Left / right marking:Clear marking identifies the left and right side of the net roll allowing easier and safer loading. It identifies which way the net will unroll so the roll is loaded correctly every time.

Interlacing net ends:The ends of a net should interlace properly rather than hanging loose. If ends interlace well, interlacing of the individual layers will also be better. This way it save on wraps and get more bales from one roll of net wrap.
