Twice a Year PhysicalsWe know that your pet is a member of your family. We want to provide your pet with the same high standard of care we provide to our own pets. This is why we are now scheduling twice yearly physical examinations for every pet.
Pets Age FasterPets age much faster than humans do. One dog or cat year is the equivalent to approximately 7 human years. A recent study of over 1 million dogs and cats showed that if detected early enough 2/3 of cat diseases and 3/4 of dog diseases can be managed through diet alone. Often, once signs develop, it is too late to take advantage of this approach.
Bordetella VaccineThis protects against avery contagious infection that dogs transmit to each other. This is the dog form of Whopping Cough in humans. Unlike some vaccines that we are now able touse every 3 years, immunity for bordetella is not long-lasting. A vaccine against the multiple causes of Kennel Cough is required and recommended to begiven every 6 months. It’s simply a few drops in the nose - no needles!
ParasitesThe Companion Animal Parasite Council recommends a minimum of two fecal screens per year to detect parasites that are harmful to dogs and contagious to people, especially children orimmune-compromised adults. We now know that these parasite eggs can survive winter and are contagious all year round.
Twice is NiceWe feel the injectable vaccines, when needed, are best given seperately which reduces the challenge to your pet’s immune sytem. To accomplish this, we need to have the opportunity to see your pets twice yearly.
