Judges 7

• God did not call heroes – He called

servants.

1 Corinthians 1:27-29 ESV

“But God chose what is foolish in the

world to shame the wise; God chose

what is weak in the world to shame the

strong;

God chose what is low and despised in

the world, even things that are not,

to bring to nothing things that

are, so that no human being might

boast in the presence of God.

2 Corinthians 12:9 paraphrase

God’s “power is most fully displayed

when [His] people are weak” .

God is more interested in His glory than our insecurities

 The Lord said to Gideon, “The people

with you are too many for me to give

the Midianites into their hand, lest

Israel boast over me, saying, ‘My own

hand has saved me. (7:2)
