The perfect hull coating With the most comprehensive assortment of antifouling coatings on the market, we can supply the ideal system for your hull to ensure you benefit from lower fuel bills and higher fleet efficiency across the entire docking interval. Here are a few of our hull coating solutions for fishing vessels.

Hempaguard® X5 and X7The only technology to combine silicone-hydrogel and the controlled release of biocide in a single coat, our award-winning Hempaguard fouling defence coating can deliver up to 6 per cent fuel savings compared to best-in-class antifoulings over the entire service interval, even if your vessel changes trading patterns and steaming speeds or is idle for extended periods of up to 120 days. The result is lower operating costs and the ultimate in fleet flexibility for docking intervals up to 90 months.

Hempasil X3+A completely biocide-free hull coating based on silicone hydrogel, Hempasil X3+ reduces fuel consumption and associated emissions by an average of 5 per cent. Hempasil X3+ can be applied to any type of fishing vessel for docking intervals up to 90 months, and is easy to apply on top of most other coatings.

Globic NCTAn enhanced antifouling solution for docking intervals up to 60 months, Globic NCT combines tried and tested nano acrylate technology with impressive value for money, and offers fuel savings of up to 4 per cent in both warm and cold waters.

Oceanic+A cost-effective antifouling solution with unmatched mechanical strength, Oceanic+ is built on proven zinc carboxylate technology and includes microfibre reinforcement to improve durability. It can be used by vessels operating in different trading waters and can be specified for docking intervals up to 36 months.

Olympic+A cost-effective rosin-based coating, Olympic+ has a long track record and has proven to deliver good fuel-saving performance for docking intervals up to 36 months. It can be specified for almost any trading water, vessel type and steaming speed.

Epoxy coatingsHempadur Quattro 17634A high-performance PSPC-compliant coating for water ballast tanks, Hempadur Quattro 17634 is a universal epoxy that offers proven protection against seawater, oils and abrasion. The coating can also be used as a universal primer on almost any vessel area that needs increased durability.

Hempadur Multi-Strength 45750A self-priming two-component coating for vessel areas that are subject to severe abrasion, Hempadur Multi-Strength 45750 ensures excellent resistance to abrasion and corrosion, including corrosively aggressive chemicals. It can be applied in temperatures from -10°C to 40°C and offers short drying times for a fast return to service.

Hempadur Easy 47700When our customers told us that they wanted a reliable and easy-to-apply universal coating that could be applied in all climatic conditions, we developed the pure epoxy primer Hempadur Easy 47700. Suitable for almost all vessel surfaces, Hempadur Easy 47700 requires minimal surface preparation, can be applied in a wide range of temperatures and offers fast drying and re-coating times for quick application.

Hempadur 35530 and 35560Fully certified solvent-free coatings for potable water tanks, Hempadur35530 and 35560 will ensure your tanks are full of delicious drinking water and nothing else. They also give brine tanks a long-lasting coating that will protect them from corrosion for years to come.


Reducing hull damage for a longer lasting vessel

When fishing company Polar Seafood needed a robust coating to reduce hull damage and associated maintenancecosts, it turned to Hempadur Multi-Strength 45750 withexcellent results.

The challengeFishing in icy waters exposes a vessel’s hull to severe impact and abrasion. Polar Seafood was looking for an abrasion resistant hull coating that would protect its vessels from corrosion and abrasion in order to reduce the need for maintenance and increase its vessels’ time in service.

The resultsWe specified Hempadur Multi-Strength 45750, a highly abrasion resistant coating that protects the hull againstcorrosion and the severe damage caused by fendering,anchor chains and other impacts. Our Technical Service team worked closely with Polar Seafoodthroughout application, and the resulting coating system willreduce long-term maintenance costs for the company.

Customer: Based in Denmark, Polar Seafood has beenfishing in the area around Iceland and Greenland since 1984. The company is dedicated to fishing with the utmost respect for the environment and the vessels are fitted with the latest fishing and conservation technology.
