Profile of Terminal Petikemas Surabaya:Terminal Petikemas Surabaya is the one of world class container terminal in Indonesia. Terminal Petikemas Surabaya has new container yard area that could accommodate 2400 teus. In September 2015 Terminal Petikemas Surabaya has some plan to renew their stevedoring equipment.

Activity Summary :

1 Safety instruction The visitor should register their ID The visitor should use the safety equipment (safety helmets, safety shoes, and green

worker vests) before entering container yard area. The visitor shouldn’t walk in pedestrian along stevedoring area .The visitor shouldn’t stand under the container crane

2 Container yard activity Every container should be checked their manifest by Terminal Petikemas Surabaya

3 Visiting KMTC ShanghaiKMTC Shanghai is the one of direct vessel that provide KIS-K route (Jakarta-Surabaya-Ulsan-Pusan-Hongkong-Singapore) with Korean’s flag by KMTC as the liner.It could accommodate 1,860 TEU.Here is the picture of KMTC Shanghai

3 Stevedoring activity

Stevedoring activity have done by using the container crane. The container crane hold the container chassis to move the container into ship There are two container crane for every that could lift 25 container per hours. The stevedoring activity has begins by load the container that placed at under deck.

After the under deck area was full they closed the under deck area with the “palka” then they load another container above the “palka”.

Specially for open top container, they use sling iron crane to do stevedoring activityHere is the picture of stevedoring activity.

Reporter Opinion :In my opinion Terminal Petikemas has a good safety instruction as the world wide class of container terminal. They obey all of the safety instruction and regulation to keep their performance. They also can improve the stevedoring activity into 20% with lifting 26 boxes/hour.
