In 1976 Kimm A. Richardson founded The Richardson Group, laying the foundation for a diversified general contracting firm distinguished by quality, integrity, and commitment. TRG is proactive in finding solutions for our clients that best achieve their goals, helping to foster lasting relationships that have become the lifeblood of our business. TRG’s practice of being client focused is why 90% of our business is repeat business. We approach each new project with a cooperative mindset, working with clients, architects and subcontractors toward the common goal – successful project delivery. Through our technical skill and construction know-how, we anticipate project challenges, develop solutions that meet or exceed our client’s objectives. Our work continues to meet the stringent standards of quality and integrity set by Mr. Richardson 35 years ago.

History

Since its beginning as a contractor in 1973, The Richardson Group has been a name associated with construction excellence in the Southern California building industry. The Richardson Group is a Commercial General Contractor providing construction services to our clients in Office, Industrial, Retail, Institutional, and Medical facilities. Our commitment to service and principal involvement in all company operations is the key to maintaining the high level of quality that is evident in all of our projects.

Nordstrom Rack, Beverly Connection Architect: Callison Architecture

The Richardson Group is completing an interior build-out of a 28,000 SF existing shell. Interior demolition and build-out including the construction of a new security area with surveillance cameras, and holding area. Construction of 4 offices with varying size windows to house regional and store managers and supporting personnel. Sapcious break room with wood cabinetry, dining table and chairs, vending machines and flat screen T.V. Men's and Women's fitting rooms and restrooms with decorative tile. Warehouse receiving area with storage racks for all hanging items, and stacked items. Fully equiped Alterations room with stations set up for personnel.

New retail construction of two buildings totaling 11,000 SF which includes a 3,000 SF of restaurant space. 

Argosy UniversityCommercial Interior Planner: Fraser McClellan & Associates

Tenant Improvement project; consisting of a complete three (3) FL build-out of a 31,000 SF existing office to accommodate the university's move from Santa Ana facility to Orange.  Administration, classrooms, multi-purpose room, requiring complete demolition and build-out of the space.

Manhattan Beach Country ClubInterior Planning & Design: Fisher Design Company, Inc.

Various Tenant Improvement projects; consisting of a complete remodel of the multi-purpose room, requiring complete demolition and build-out of the space. Ceiling was finished in decorative nine-wood to resemble teak Other projects included improvements to an office, moving of the athletic desk and components, carpet, paint, cabinets, and installation of hard surface countertops.

The Richardson Group finished the second phase of the Commons Project in North Hollywood, which included rental units and retail space, including a supermarket, bank and restaurants for the J.h Snyder Co. & the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency.

Retail Stores “Vanilla Shell” Construction of a pad building and site that had the Corner Bakery, Pei Wei, and Sprint/Nextel as tenants. J.h Snyder Co. development; Huntington Beach, CA

The River at Rancho Mirage The River offers 125,000 S.F. of retail space, an additional 35,000 S.F for restaurants and an additional 19,000 S.F. of second story office space. TRG was responsible for “Vanilla Shell” interior construction of 28 tenant spaces and a retail interior build-out of Borders Books & Cafe.  J.h Snyder Co. development, Rancho Mirage.

Morgan Stanley-Dean Witter-Dean Witter Reynolds The Richardson Group has finished many projects over the course of a decade for the Morgan Stanley Group of Companies. These projects range from high-end office remodels, improvements, renovations, expansions, and build-outs. Many were phased projects over multiple floors and conducted during regular business hours

Salomon Smith Barney

Over 15 offices throughout Southern California. Projects consisted of Build-out of tenant spaces with high end finishes; office expansion and remodel, multiple phases completed during business hours; phased remodel of multiple floors, including the addition of stairs between floors.

2006 CMACN Design Award Sustainable Building

New 30,000 SF Student Services Center featuring ten classrooms and a number of faculty offices. The building also simplifies student services by housing many of the college’s core functions including admissions and records, financial aid, the cashier’s office and disabled students programs and services (DSPS) under one roof.

Chapman University – Bertea Hall (Music Department) The Richardson Group performed an extensive high-end renovation on Bertea Hall to bring the facility to new levels and to allow Bertea to continue to serve the students and faculty in the best way possible. Bertea Hall contains faculty offices and teaching studios interspersed with student practice areas as well as Salmon Recital Hall. Salmon Recital Hall often houses the esteemed guest artists and master teachers who present special performances, workshops and master classes for the Conservatory of Music at Chapman University.

anceProfessional Musician’s Local 47 Concert HallArchitect: Epstein ~ ISI

Interior remodel of the exisitng Professional Musician’s Concert Hall; built in Los Angeles between 1941-1942. The project included the complete demolition of the exisiting interior and build-out with ADA upgrades and new core to basement. The floor of the Hall was hand-inlaid with a musician’s note (see above).

Cedars – Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA Cedars – Sinai serves the greater Los Angeles Community and is one of the most preferred hospitals in the region. The Richardson Group renovated a Four Patient Intensive Care Unit, a 6th Floor Dialysis Unit, and Infant Intensive Care Unit, Patient Rooms, Pathology, and HLA Lab.

Good Samaritan Hospital, Los Angeles, CA

The Richardson Group was responsible for many projects over the course of two (2) years, some of the projects included: Lab Remodel, O.B. Wing, Radiological Mammogram Remodel, Omni-cell Installation, Admitting, Operating Rooms, Relocation & Expansion of In-Hospital Pharmacy, Multi-Phased Interior Hospital Project, completed while ER Department remained fully operational, NICU and Nurses Stations demolition and build-out, CCU Nurse Station, Linear Acceleration Addition, Gamma Knife Reload
