Visual Intelligence for Mobile and Fixed Transportation NetworksMarch Networks® advanced video surveillance solutions for the trans

portation sector excel in providing reliable, costefficient performance

in fixed and mobile applications.

The preferred choice of public transportation agencies, municipal

governments, air and seaport authorities, and road and rail network

operators around the world, March Networks systems boast wireless

enabled remote diagnostics, automated video downloading, and an

IP networked VideoSphere™ solution with integrated analytics for fixed

applications. Video management software provides security managers

and network administrators with powerful tools to efficiently deploy and

manage unlimited numbers of cameras across any number of locations.

Mobile ApplicationsMarch Networks mobile video recording solutions offer exceptional reliability, video quality and storage capacity. Built to withstand the harsh operating conditions of an onboard environment, our Mobile Digital Video Recorders (MDVRs) feature removable harddrives for conventional video extraction, and support automated wireless downloading of video and vehicle data through 802.11 ‘hot spots’ when vehicles enter transportation depots, for example. The systems also support remote access to video over GSM/CDMA/EVDO and WiMax mesh networks.

Highspeed wireless capability allows transportation agencies to remotely configure mobile systems, upload software and monitor the performance of harddrives and cameras, or outsource health monitoring and management to the March Networks 24/7 Network Operations Center. System options include audio recording, invehicle advertising and integrated GPS and vehicle data capture. March Networks 5000 Series MDVRs can accommodate up to 12 cameras and offer up to 1.5 TB of onboard storage. A comprehensive suite of peripherals includes our UltraWide Dynamic Range Dome Cameras, designed for exceptional image clarity in a range of lighting conditions.

Fixed ApplicationsVideoSphere, March Networks’ intelligent video management solution, is ideal for airports, seaports, bus and train stations, and municipal video surveillance and traffic monitoring systems consisting of hundreds or thousands of cameras. Supporting both allIP and hybrid analog/IP video installations, the portfolio includes video management software running on industrystandard host and storage servers, bestinclass IP cameras, encoders and networked video recorders.

VideoSphere allows transportation organizations to leverage their investments in existing video infrastructure while deploying highresolution or megapixel IP cameras in strategic locations, and transition to an allIP configuration at their own pace. IP and hybrid video systems offer cost efficiencies related to cabling, installation and investment protection. VideoSphere also supports video wall systems for operations monitoring centers and video content analysis, including object tracking, perimeter alarms and unattended object detection to proactively alert security staff to potential security risks.

Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTCSN)“I didn’t think we’d ever reach this

level of technology for a transit fleet. I’m just happy to see it in my lifetime. It’s quite astounding.”

John NevilleTechnical Systems Supervisor,

RTCSN

The RTCSN serves the 1.9 million people living in Las Vegas and surrounding communities. The Commission’s wireless-enabled March Networks mobile recorders automatically download tag- ged video clips and transmit health reports to an operations center, ensuring that any performance issues are promptly addressed.

Changi Airport’s Terminal 2 is a 358,000-square meter facility. Its video surveillance network consists of more than 400 analog cameras linked to a terminal-wide fiber network by VideoSphere single-channel encoders. Video is recorded by NVRs in a central location, stored on RAID units and displayed on a 50-monitor video wall in a security operations center.

Miami-Dade Transit, the 14th largest public transportation agency in the United States, selected March Networks 5412 Mobile DVRs for a staged, fleet-wide deployment of advanced video surveillance technology. The system was the only mobile recorder that met senior management’s require-ments for 30 days of onboard storage and high video quality.

Changi Airport (Singapore) “The customer is very pleased with

the performance and reliability of the system. It allows monitoring staff to view live video from every corner of the terminal and quickly dispatch security staff to investigate any suspicious activity.”

Jimmy Leow Business Development and

Operations Director, TJ Systems

Miami-Dade Transit“The March Networks 5412 was the

first DVR we were aware of that offered anything remotely close to what we were looking for.”

Public TransportationMobile video surveillance systems reduce losses due to fraudulent liability claims, deter vandalism and ensure the safety and security of passengers and employees on public transportation vehicles. Built to withstand the inherent challenges of managing hundreds or thousands of cameras and recorders on vehicles crisscrossing a large metropolis, March Networks wirelessenabled video recording systems deliver the performance, reliability and cost efficiencies demanded by transportation authorities.

Airports and SeaportsOur IP video surveillance systems with integrated video analytics alert staff in operations monitoring centers to potential risks in airports and seaports, and protect passengers, employees and the general public from a

wide range of threats. Highresolution video from IP cameras provides the image clarity required for incident investigations, while VideoSphere allIP and hybrid configurations employing video management software on industrystandard IT servers produce efficiencies related to cabling, installation and equipment procurement.

City and Municipal Traffic Monitoring A growing number of municipal law enforcement agencies worldwide rely on street and roadside video surveillance systems to monitor traffic conditions, respond to accidents and investigate criminal activities. Cameras linked to fiber networks stream video to central monitoring stations to help keep the traffic flowing, safeguard citizens, deter vandalism and identify suspects.
