For purposes of GPA computation, it is equivalent to an “F”. CALENDAR CSU Channel Islands operates on a semester calendar system. The “credit hour” is defined as the amount of work represented in intended learning outcomes and verified by evidence of student achievement that is an institutionally established equivalency that reasonably approximates not less than one credit hour of classroom or direct faculty instruction and a minimum of two hours of out-of- class student work each week for approximately 15 weeks. Extended University offers programs on varying schedules, both during the regular semesters and in the summer. Extension course work may be taken by both matriculated and non-matriculated students. TRANSFER CREDIT Transfer credit listed on the transcript includes all acceptable units from the institutions listed and units for any exams listed as Test Credit, regardless of applicability to the student’s degree program. GRADUATION REQUIREMENT The baccalaureate degree requires 120-133 semester units, depending on the major selected. No more than 70 semester units taken at a community college or other two-year college may be applied to this total. An overall GPA of 2.0 is required for all collegiate work attempted, all CSUCI units attempted, and all attempted units in the major. A minimum of 30 semester units of approved graduate work is required for the master’s degree. An overall GPA of 3.0 is required for all work in the master’s program. CONTINUING EDUCATION UNIT (CEU) The CEU is a nationally recognized unit of measurement of non- credit, postsecondary level study. It has been established by the International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET). A student can earn one CEU for every ten hours of participation or portion thereof. FAMILY EDUCATIONAL RIGHTS AND PRIVACY ACT OF 1974 (FERPA) (Public Law 93-880, S518) This official transcript of record is being released at the request of the student in accordance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974.
