You have found the dream spot to celebrate your love for each other and now comes the next thing: Satisfying hungry guests whom have travelled far to get to your celebration. These days you are bombarded with choice. Buffet, Plated, Cocktail, Portable Dining, DIY Bars and the list goes on. For me there are two things to take into account, practicality and visual image. People are enticed by what they see, you eat with your eyes as much as anythingelse. Where a plated and cocktail menu is visually very stimulating, it more often than not, leaves the guests wanting more. Keep the tummies satisfied as well as entertained and you have a winning combination!

The ideal wedding menu will certainly be a combination of all the different dining genres. Speak to your venue about the choices on offer and whether they are prepared to be flexible to accommodate your pallet. By entertaining guests after the ceremony with interesting bite size treats and cocktail snacks keeps it fun but does not spoil the appetite for the main meal. Lizelle and Jimmy were married at Tramonto on the 27th of November 2010 in The Venue @ Tramonto, below the story of how they met in the bride’s own words.

Ek het Jimmy 16 Januarie 2007 ontmoet toe hy kom groente aflaai het by die mense by wie ek op daardie stadium gehuur het.... Hy het 'n kort-broek, groen-en-wit rygby sokkies met blou crocks aangehad...ek was weer in my "Ouma-werkspakkie" (soos Jimmy dit vandag nog noem) geklee...

Dit was nie love at first sight nie maar nie te min het hy my die volgende aand uitgeneem vir ete! Ons het oor-en-weer gekuier en ‘n paar weke later was ons by vriende se troue, ons besef toe ons voel meer vir mekaar as wat ons voorgegee het! Jimmy het wel 'n ander date gehad en ek was daar op my eie..... maar hy het nogals ‘n ogie oor my gehou die aand (",)

Na 'n paar maande het dit egter nie gewerk nie (maar ek moet vandag erken ek het toe reeds my hart verloor). Na 2007 moes ek my staatsjaar in Upington gaan doen het...hierna was dit 'n aan-en-af wipplank verhouding, kan nie met mekaar nie en kan nie sonder mekaar nie....

Na ons al 2 deur ander verhoudings is kom ons teen Maart 2010 weer bymekaar, en vir die eerste keer is dit "die regte ding op die regte tyd"! Ons het so te sê dadelik geweet ons wil trou...!!

Ons raak toe op 10 September verloof sonder dat ek enige iets vermoed het - maar dis hoe ek dit nog altyd wou gehad het, hy het toe reeds 3 weke tevore gaan ouers vra.

Nog dieselfde aand het ons gesê ons wil 27 November trou, ons het na Tramonto gaan kyk en “the rest is history”! Dit was ‘n onvergeetlike sprokies dag vol wonderlike herindering en emosie, ons sal dit vir altyd koester!

Choosing the Menue:

You have found the dream spot to celebrate your love for each other and now comes the next thing: Satisfying hungry guests whom have travelled far to get to your celebration. These days you are bombarded with choice. Buffet, Plated, Cocktail, Portable Dining, DIY Bars and the list goes on. For me there are two things to take into account, practicality and visual image. People are enticed by what they see, you eat with your eyes as much as anythingelse. Where a plated and cocktail menu is visually very stimulating, it more often than not, leaves the guests wanting more. Keep the tummies satisfied as well as entertained and you have a winning combination!

The ideal wedding menu will certainly be a combination of all the different dining genres. Speak to your venue about the choices on offer and whether they are prepared to be flexible to accommodate your pallet. By entertaining guests after the ceremony with interesting bite size treats and cocktail snacks keeps it fun but does not spoil the appetite for the main meal. By having a buffet main meal you will ensure that you cater for an array of different tastes and provides a wide variety of foods to choose from. Bring in some formality by serving a plated starter and/or dessert, this also gives you the opportunity to dazzle with beautiful garnishes. Have fun planning your perfect menu!

Jimmy & Lizelle

Lizelle and Jimmy were married at Tramonto on the 27th of November 2010 in The Venue @ Tramonto, below the story of how they met in the bride’s own words.

Ek het Jimmy 16 Januarie 2007 ontmoet toe hy kom groente aflaai het by die mense by wie ek op daardie stadium gehuur het.... Hy het 'n kort-broek, groen-en-wit rygby sokkies met blou crocks aangehad...ek was weer in my "Ouma-werkspakkie" (soos Jimmy dit vandag nog noem) geklee...

Dit was nie love at first sight nie maar nie te min het hy my die volgende aand uitgeneem vir ete! Ons het oor-en-weer gekuier en ‘n paar weke later was ons by vriende se troue, ons besef toe ons voel meer vir mekaar as wat ons voorgegee het! Jimmy het wel 'n ander date gehad en ek was daar op my eie..... maar hy het nogals ‘n ogie oor my gehou die aand (",)

Na 'n paar maande het dit egter nie gewerk nie (maar ek moet vandag erken ek het toe reeds my hart verloor). Na 2007 moes ek my staatsjaar in Upington gaan doen het...hierna was dit 'n aan-en-af wipplank verhouding, kan nie met mekaar nie en kan nie sonder mekaar nie....

Na ons al 2 deur ander verhoudings is kom ons teen Maart 2010 weer bymekaar, en vir die eerste keer is dit "die regte ding op die regte tyd"! Ons het so te sê dadelik geweet ons wil trou...!!

Ons raak toe op 10 September verloof sonder dat ek enige iets vermoed het - maar dis hoe ek dit nog altyd wou gehad het, hy het toe reeds 3 weke tevore gaan ouers vra.

Nog dieselfde aand het ons gesê ons wil 27 November trou, ons het na Tramonto gaan kyk en “the rest is history”! Dit was ‘n onvergeetlike sprokies dag vol wonderlike herindering en emosie, ons sal dit vir altyd koester!

Na ons al 2 deur ander verhoudings is kom ons teen Maart 2010 weer bymekaar, en vir die eerste keer is dit "die regte ding op die regte tyd"! Ons het so te sê dadelik geweet ons wil trou...!!

Ons raak toe op 10 September verloof sonder dat ek enige iets vermoed het - maar dis hoe ek dit nog altyd wou gehad het, hy het toe reeds 3 weke tevore gaan ouers vra.

Nog dieselfde aand het ons gesê ons wil 27 November trou, ons het na Tramonto gaan kyk en “the rest is history”! Dit was ‘n onvergeetlike sprokies dag vol wonderlike herindering en emosie, ons sal dit vir altyd koester!
