Lynette obtained her B Compt degree from UOFS and her post graduate Hons BCom(Acc) (Cum Laude) and BCompt / CTA from UNISA. Before and after her period of articles Lynette was a senior lecturer in Accounting and Auditing at the University of Namibia and during this time she obtained an Advanced Certificate in Taxation from UNISA. From 2000 to 2004 she was the Tax Manager of the coastal Tax Department of PricewaterhouseCoopers and was promoted to Associate Director in 2005. In 2012 she joined FCS and was admitted as partner in

2013. Lynette is also a member of the Namibia Institute of Professional Accountants (NIPA), and The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia (ICAN).

Karl-Heinz completed his Degree in Accounting Science at the University of South Africa in 2006. Karl-Heinz is intrigued by the workings of the various tax systems and laws. He is also involved in developing and presenting some of the FCS training courses, which are available to FCS staff and the public at large. By offering these training courses, he hopes to increase the accounting and tax knowledge throughout Namibia. He is also a member of the Namibia Institute of Professional Accountants (NIPA).

Jeanine completed her B. Compt degree from UNISA in 2009, and at the end of 2009 she achieved her Honors B. Compt. During this period she also completed her traineeship with NIPA and her articles as CA with FCS Auditors. She is involved in the training of audit staff at FCS, and was admitted as partner in 2013. Jeanine is also a member of the Namibia Institute of Professional Accountants (NIPA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia (ICAN) and the Public Accountants and Auditors Board (PAAB).

Bruné obtained her B.Compt Degree from Unisa in 2006 and completed her articles with KPMG. Bruné has worked as an accountant since 2003 after finishing her articles. She joined FCS in March 2017. She enjoys the more technical aspects of accounting and taxation, and is a dedicated and passionate advocate for client service and satisfaction. Bruné is a member of the Namibia Institute of Professional Accountants (NIPA) and the Southern African

Institute of Business Accountants and General Tax Practitioners in South Africa.

Jowina obtained her degrees from the University of Stellenbosch during 2005 - 2008. After that she completed one year of academic articles with the University. She completed her ICAN articles with BDO and qualified as a CA(NAM) in 2011. She then joined Wesbank Transport as Financial Manager before joining FCS as Accounting Manager in May 2016. Jowina is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAN).

Course Presenters

Johann joined FCS in 2006 at the Swakopmund office as a Junior Trainee Accountant. Later the same year he transferred to the Windhoek office and in 2012 completed his Degree in Accounting Science at the University of South Africa. In January 2015 he was promoted to Manager in the Accounting Department. Johann is also a member of the Namibia Institute of Professional Accountants (NIPA)

Philip obtained a Hons B Rek degree from the University of Stellenbosch, and in later years also a Masters Degree in Business leadership from UNISA. During and after completion of his articles, he lectured part time at the University of Namibia on the subject of auditing. Leaving the audit profession in 1999, he spent the next 18 years in the insurance Industry in various roles in the short-term, long-term and medical insurance fields, as well as reinsurance and software development for the insurance industry. Philip joined PKF-FCS

auditors in 2017 as audit manager in the Windhoek office. Philip is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia (ICAN), the Institute of Chartered Accountants of South Africa (SAICA), and the Institute of Risk Management of South Africa (IRMSA).

Hendrina obtained her B.Comm Financial Accounting degree in 2006 from the Northwest University (Potchefstroom Campus) and started her career in 2007. In 2010 she completed her articles and in January 2011 she started working at FCS Swakopmund as a senior accountant. Hendrina was promoted to manager of the accounting department in January 2014. She is also a member of the Namibia Institute of Professional Accountants (NIPA).

Kai worked as an articled clerk at Stier Vente in Windhoek from 2003-2007. During this period he completed his B. Compt degree with UNISA in 2006. In 2008 Kai completed his ICAN articles, while he worked at Woermann & Brock as a Financial Manager. From 2009-2010 he worked at Prestige Accounting as a Senior Accountant. Kai joined FCS Windhoek in 2011, and was admitted as partner at FCS on 1 March 2015. Kai is also a member of the Namibia Institute of Professional Accountants (NIPA).

Jana-Marié obtained her Master’s degree from the North West University (Potchefstroom Campus) in 2008 and completed her articles in 2009. In 2010 she moved to Namibia and worked at BDO Windhoek for just over two years. After moving to the coast she joined the FCS team in Walvis Bay as a Senior Accountant in November 2012. She has been Manager of the Accounting department since January 2014. Jana-Marié was appointed as a director in FCS in March 2017. She is also a member of NIPA.

Khumbulani completed his B.ACC Hons from the University of Namibia in 2012 and Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Science in 2016. Khumbulani joined FCS in August 2016 when PKF merged with FCS. He did his articles during this time with PKF-FCS Auditors and completed it in January 2017. Khumbulani is an Audit Manager with PKF-FCS Auditors in Windhoek. He is passionate about imparting technical knowledge. Khumbulani is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia (ICAN).

JP completed his B. Compt from UNISA. In 1997 he completed his Hons. B. Compt, and his CTA in 1998. He completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Auditing in 1999. He headed the Entrepreneurial Division of Ernst & Young in Windhoek from 1998 to 2000. In October 2000 he moved to Walvis Bay where he managed the Ernst & Young office, and in 2005 he was promoted to director. During this period he also acted as training officer in Walvis Bay. From 2006 JP joined Financial Consulting Services CC as a member and as a partner. He registered

FCS Auditors to supplement the wide range of services offered by FCS. JP is a member of the Namibia Institute of Professional Accountants (NIPA), and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia (ICAN).

Astrid completed her B.Compt from UNISA in 2014 and Hons. B. Compt in 2016. She completed her articles with SGA Chartered Accountants and Auditors during January 2015, after which she joined FCS Auditors. In March 2017 Astrid was appointed as Audit Manager in Walvis Bay. Astrid is a very enthusiastic person and has a true passion for auditing.

Discussion on our legal and moral obligation towards our clients, quality requirements in terms of our Institute and IFAC regulations, accepting responsibility for our work, honouring the cli-ent's trust placed in us.

Detailed workshop:

• Step by step guide to our working papers, WHY we do it; WHEN we do it and HOW we do it;

• Work to be performed on each section of the WP file and documenting steps;

• Minimum supporting documentation for each section that must be on file;

• Analytical review procedures;

• Reaching a conclusion; drafting the appropriate accounting officer's report' review notes and file review by partner;

ACC01 — Accounting: FCS work standards and quality

Aimed at: Accounting trainees, Bookkeeping staff, Client processing staff.

This presentation is a practical workshop on how to:

• get any reconciliation to balance, then applying appropriate action to resolve reconciling items where required.

• What is a reconciliation and why is it done;

• Reconciling any two sets of numbers;

• Step-by-step: Avoid distractions, keep focused;

• Verifying your reconciling items, take action;

• Common problem areas when doing: Opening Balance reconciliations; Bank reconciliations; Creditors reconciliations;

• Intercompany account reconciliations;

• Balancing any financial report being prepared from underlying information, finding mistakes on out-of-balance reports swiftly;

• Analytical review – how to perform and which criteria to set and which ratios to use; quick check on finance charges;

• Preparing financial information from incomplete records – detailed guide;

• The last 5 minutes of every job are the most important ones.
