  • TesT Force Transducer Load Cells TesTTesT produces high standard force transducers and load cells.Although force transducers are similar to load cells with regard to their build and structure, force transducers often fulfil different purposes.

Up to a certain degree, force transducers have to be suitable for dynamic measurements. This is different for the production of scales, in particular of load cells, which are predominantly used for static or quasi-static applications.

TesT provides the whole range, Ordinary force transducers for tough industrial everyday use specified according to VDI/VDE

    guideline 2638, force transducers.

Force transducers with excellent dynamic measuring qualities up to 1.6 kHz

High precision force transducers as reference measuring cells for the calibration of testing machines according to ISO 376, ISO 7500 and EN 10.002/3. Also used by national calibration services (e.g. DKD, COFRAC, SIT, etc.) in force calibration machines for calibrating force transducers.

Force transducers for both very small and very large forces between 0.01 N and 50 MN (full range)

Load cells for measurements between a few grams and several tons

With and without references from numerous industrial branches

With and without certification according to OIML R 60

Individual and highly specified force transducers torque measuring devices load cells

In addition, TesT delivers the accompanying electronics which have been developed specifically for each individual machine:

    Portable battery-operated analysis electronics

Desk devices with a variety of different functions

    Switchboard-installation devices

  • The electrical force transducers of the TesT 301 series are durable, non-flexible, free from corrosion and easy to install in any position. They are excellent for measuring either tensile or compressive forces under both static and dynamic conditions. Their small dimensions allow for space-efficient applications, e.g. when controlling assembly forces, at fast-track presses and for production-integrated material testing. The CAL version with a maximum pre-cision class of 0.5 is employed for calibration purposes in QM systems.

    Model 302 / 303Electrical Force Transducer TesT

Small dimensions Easy to install High precision For dynamic applications

The electrical force transducers of the TesT series 302 and 303 are often used in narrow spaces where high standards are required. The transducers, which are made of high-quality stainless steel, come in two versions: The 302 model is used for measuring compressive forces whereas the 303 version is used for measuring either tensile or compressive forces. Both models are furthermore employed for calibration purposes in QM systems.

Small dimensions Easy to install High precision Stainless steel

The miniature electrical force transducers of the TesT series 304/305 are most commonly used in spaces too narrow for any other de-vice. Given great accuracy in their installation, these compact transducers achieve high pre-cision and long durability. They are made of high-quality stainless steel and come in two different versions: The 304 model is used for measuring compressive forces whereas the 305 model is used for measuring both tensile and compressive forces.

The high-precision industrial amplifier of the TesT series 854 delivers input-proportional signals. On the basis of a power input of 24V or 230V, an initial voltage is generated as an input of strain gage-based force transducers. The ensuing signals are amplified and can be processed in a second step by analysis devices such as displays or control units.

  • Item Unit Definition

Nominal force Fnom N force for which the force transducer is nominally built.

Force measurement range B N measurement range in which a force transducer is used. A force transducer may have more than one measurement range in which the respective error margins have to be kept. Each measurement range is limited by an initial force Fi and an end force Fe.Nominal sensitivity Cnom mV/V nominal rate of the sensitivity.

Sensitivity tolerance CTol % relative deviation of the actual sensitivity from the nominal sensitivity.

    Nonlinearity (deviation of linearity)

% during increasing force, the maximum deviation of a characteristic curve of a force transducer from the best straight line relative to the measurement range.

Variation % Variation is the measurement for the relative standard deviation of the initial signal. It is taken from ten repeated measurements at two points of the characteristic curve with the same mechanical value and the same changes each time.

Combined error Fcomb % The combined error is half the distance between the limits of the tolerance range which encloses the characteristic curve within the measurement range at both increasing and decreasing forces. It is relative to the nominal sensitivity Fcomb and consists of the linearity error and the hysteresis error..

Reference temperature tref C temperature, at which the technical data of the force transducer are valid..

Nominal temperature range Bt, nom C range of the surrounding temperature in which the force transducer keeps to the error margins of the temperature-related technical data .

Creep error % the creep error is the maximum allowance for change of the sensors initial signal over a given time span, under constant force and consistent context conditions .

Temperature impact on the sensitivity per 10 K

TKC % relative impact on the sensitivity of a force transducer due to a change in the surrounding temperature T1 of 10 K within a defined temperature range after regulating stationary conditions..

Temperature impact on the zero signal per 10 K

TK0 % Impact on the zero signal of a force transducer relative to the sensitivity due to a change in the surrounding temperature T1 of 10 K within a defined temperature range after regulating stationary conditions.

Stock temperature range Bt, S C Range of the surrounding temperature, in which the force transducer may be stored when not in mechanical and electrical use so that no significant changes of its measuring qualities can be noted when it is taken up for use again in its nominal temperature range.

Output resistance Ra resistance, measured between the output connectionsInput resistance Re resistance, measured between the input connectionsIsolation resistance Ris G , measured between the terminals and the deformation element of the transducer.

Maximum input voltage U V maximum voltage allowance.Range of input voltage BU,nom V range of the input voltage in which the force transducer keeps to the

error margins of its technical dataBreak load LB % The break load is the load relative to the nominal force which will

destroy the force transducer mechanically .Maximum allowance for dynamic load

Ldy % relative to the nominal force the maximum allowance for dynamic load is the range of possible oscillation that a sensor can take at a force introduction of 107 cycles with a force that describes a sinus curve towards the measurement axes of the sensor. It allows the sensor to function so that no significant changes of its measuring qualities can be noted when it is taken up for use again within its nominal force
