Background Why blended learning?• Over two years ago:
– The need to raise the number of student applicants– The need to get Pori unit economy better– The main campus demanded actions– To get better time and space support for students– Teachers’ own keen on developing things

What did we do?1. Student marketing were permitted blended learning2. Plans were made move to blended learning
In reality• the schedule was very tight (a few months)• co-determination negotiations (lay-offs)• no deep knowledge of the blended learning• resistance to change

After two years experiences• The raised numbers of student applicants• The Pori unit economy is better• The main campus is following our fast development• Good time and space support for students• Very good feedback from students (specially math)• Resistance to changes is disappearing• Large development project (KASKU-project)• A lot of video materials

MOOC - expanding blended learningIn our case, there were found four ways to apply MOOCS:1. A third-party MOOC implemented standard course
directly2. MOOC replaces a standard course for international
students3. MOOC implements a course of which the content is not
completely fixed4. MOOCs or their modules are used as parts of standard
courseIn case was seen that flipped classroom and MOOC together would be promising pedagogical approaches.
