Fort Bourtange Fort Bourtange is a star-shaped moated fort situated in the village of Bourtange, Groningen, Netherlands. During the Eighty Years' War, the Spaniards had control over Groningen and the road leading from there to Germany. William, the leader of the Netherlands, saw it necessary to  break off communications between Groningen and Germany. He decided that it would be optimal to build a fortification on the Bourtange passage, which the main road was leading to Germany. The fort was completed in 1593 in the design of a star fort with a network of canals and lakes which were used as moats (which were also constructed in the design of stars). Soon after its construction, Spanish forces from Groningen  besieged it, though the atta ck ended in fail ure. After its eventual secession and conversion into a village in 1851, living conditions began to deteriorate. Over 100 years later in 1960, the local government decided that to combat this growing problem, the old Fort would be restored to its 1740- 1750 appearance and made into a historical museum. This  provided valuable tourism for the surrounding village. The Fort still remains a museum today. Hallstatt village Located between Salzburg and Graz, in the Salzkammergut Lake District of Austria, Hallstatt is a little town of  breathtaking views. Considered to be the oldest still inhabited settlement in Europe, Hallstatt is a UNESCO heritage site and an important Austrian tourist attraction. Its name is “borrowed” from the Hallstatt culture, the  predominant Central European Culture during the early Iron Age. An old cemetery was found in the little town which is said to date back to those times.Also known as “the Pearl of Austria”, Hallstatt is truly spectacular, due to its “guardian of the Hallstättersee lake ” status and the beautiful mountains surrounding it. (salt in Greek (Hals)or (Halas)]) Hallstatt is also known for its Worlds First Salt Mine and the stunning salt caves which can be visited by tourists. The ice caves are also fascinating. Hobbiton village Unmistakable piece of movie h istory “ The site of The Shire set is about 20 minutes out of Matamata on a private farm owned by Ian Alexander. Hobbiton is a village in the S hire, just outside Matamata in the Waikato region of the North Island. It is one of the older villages located in that land, and is roughly in the center, geographically. It is the home of many illustrious Hobbits, including Bilbo Baggins, Frodo Baggins, and Samwise Gamgee. The Hobbit village was built in 1998 by Peter Jackson and  New Line Cinema as a set for the films. But now, in  preparation for the upcoming Hobbit trilogy, it has been expanded to include 44 “Hobbit Holes,” or dwellings, which feature the characteristic circular doors made famous in the movies. Popeye village Popeye Village, also known as Sweethaven Village, is a group of rustic and ramshackle wooden buildings located at Anchor Bay in the north-west corner of the Mediterranean island of Malta,  two miles from the  village of  Mellieħa. The construction of the film set started in June 1979. A construction crew of 165 working over seven months was needed to build the village, which consists of nineteen authentic wooden buildings. Popeye Village is open to the public seven days a week and, apart from the film set itself, has a number of family attractions for the visitor to experience. Riomaggiore village Riomaggiore (Rimazùu in the local Ligurian language) is a village and comune in the province of La Spezia, situated in a small valley of the Rivus Maior in the Liguria region of Italy. Riomaggiore is in the Riviera di Levante region and has shoreline on the Mediterranean's Gulf of Genoa, with a small  beach and a w harf framed by tower houses. In the nineteenth century, the country was inhabited by about 3000 people and enchanted the Florentine painter Signorini, one of the prominent of the Macchiaioli artist. Riomaggiore's main street is Via Colombo, where numerous restaurants, bars and shops can be found. Riomaggiore is the most southern village of the Cinque Terre. This is where the famous coastal hiking path, the Sentiero Azzurro (Blue path) begins. The first section    between Riomaggiore and Manarola    is called Via dell'Amore (Lover's path). Bais City Dolphin and Whale Watching is fast becoming a national attraction as well. It has gained popularity among travelers  both local and foreign because of its appealing com bination of activities. Melon headed whales, short finned pilotwhales, pygmy sperm whales, pygmy killer whales and dwarfsperm whales are commonly found in the Tañon Strait too.

APO ISLAND

Diving in Apo Island

Apo Island is surrounded by clear blue waters where a richand exotic breed of marine species subsists in harmony. Fishing in Cayo Coco is anotherfavourite locale, and the lakes nearby offer a fresh wateralternative to Cuban deep sea fishing.

Guyam Island General Luna - Siargao

Siargao Island, the Surfing Capital of the Philippines, boastsof world-class surf waves that barrels up to nine feet high. It‟s

most popular break, known as “Cloud 9” is located in the town

of General Luna where the annual international surfingcompetition is held in September.

Siargao Island was also declared the game fishing capital ofthe Philippines by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo due tothe overwhelming success of the 1st Siargao InvitationalGame Fishing Competition at Magpupungko Beach inBarangay Poblacion, Pilar, in 2008. Since then, the SiargaoInternational Game Fishing Tournament has become an annuagame fishing event and is considered the best in southernPhilippines.

Salcey Forest

Salcey Forest is a former medieval hunting forest in the southof the county of Northamptonshire in England. It lies to theeast of the village of Hartwell, between Commission and isstill commercially exploited of timber products.

In 2005, a tree top forest walk was constructed which attractedmany visitors and rises through the forest to a height of about15 meters (49 ft.) at a gradient not exceeding 1 n 12. The

 project was placed first in the Environmental category of theBritish Construction Industry Awards 2006.

The forest is a remnant of the medieval royal hunting forest.Reminders of the past can be still found, with many miles ofancient woodbanks, building remains and ancient trees. The„druids‟ or veteran oaks in Salcey are rare and amazing

wildlife habitats, and some of the old oaks are believed to be500 years old.

Bluebell Wood

A bluebell wood is a woodland thatin springtime has a carpetof flowering bluebells underneath a newly forming leafcanopy. The thicker the summer canopy, the more thecompetitive ground-cover is suppressed, encouraging a densecarpet of bluebells, whose leaves mature and die down byearly summer. Bluebell woods may be found in all parts ofGreat Britain and Ireland, as well as elsewhere in Europe.Bluebells are common indicator species for ancient woodland,so bluebell woods are likely to date back to at least 1600.

Bedgebury Forest

Bedgebury Forest is a forest surrounding Bedgebury NationalPinetum, near Flimwell in Kent. The forest contains bothdeciduous and confferous species. It forms part of the HighWeald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is one of theso-called “Seven Wonders of the Weald”. Bedgebury Forest is

located between Goudhurst, Hawkhurst and Flimwell in theHigh Weald of Kent. It is situated on a high plateau, amongstthe rolling hills of the Wealden Group. The geology is mostly

clay and sandstone and the soil is poor and acidic, which is thereason for the woodland‟s persistence.

Bears

Bear are mammals of the family Ursidae. They are covered inhair, they have a spine, they‟re warm-blooded and they feedmilk to their babies once they are born. They are caniforms, ordoglike carnivorans. Bears communicate using body language,

sounds and smells. Bears treat humans just as they wouldother bears; the problem is that bears are very physical witheach other. A bear‟s hearing ability is excellent, and like dogs,

 bears hear high pitches, exceeding human frequency range andsensitivity.

Cheetah

One of the world‟s most recognizable cats, known especially

for its speed. The cheetah is a large feline inhabiting most ofAfrica and parts of the Middle East. Cheetahs are coveredalmost entirely with small black spots on a background of pale

yellow and have a white underbelly. The coarse, short fur ofthe cheetah is tan with round black spots.

Tigers

This member of the cat family is one of the most recognizableanimals on the planet, both for its distinctive striped fur and itsintimidating size. Tigers originate in Asia are seen all over theworld in zoos. They are the largest species of cat on the planet,and after the polar bear and the brown bear, they are thelargest land carnivores.

Elephant

Elephants are large mammals of the family Elephantidae. Theelephant‟s large ear flaps help to control the temperature of its

 body. Elephants are herbivorous and can be found in differenthabitats including savannahs, forests, deserts and marshes.They prefer to stay near water. They are considered to bekeystone species due to their impact on their environments.

Giraffes

Long-necked, cud-chewing, hoofed mammal of Africa, withlong legs and a coat pattern of irregular brown patches on alight background. Giraffes are the tallest of all land animals.Using prehensile tongues almost half a metre long, they areable to browse foliage almost six metres from the ground.Giraffes are a common sight in grasslands and openwoodlands in East Africa, Giraffes grow to nearly their fullheight by four years of age but again weight until they areseven or eight.

Malajog Beach

Calbayog City is a city in the province of Samar, PhilippinesIt lies along the coastal region of the province stretching abou60 miles from the northern tip of the island and 180 milesfrom the southern boundaries.

Calbayog is one of the commercial trade centers in EasternVisayas. And is the center of trade and commerce in the entire

Hot air balloon festivals are held annually in many placesthroughout the year, allowing hot air balloons to gather and

 participate in various activities. They can include races;evening "night glows", in which balloons are fired whileremaining tethered to the ground; and rides.

León is a city in the Mexican state of  Guanajuato. It is also the

seat of the municipality of León. It is part ofthe macroregion of  Bajío. 

The city of Leon is well known for its leather and footwearindustry. However in the last decade the city has alsodeveloped an important economic activity in the automotiveindustry.

Paris Balloon

The Paris Balloon is a tethered helium balloon used as atourist attraction in the heart of  Paris,  the French capitalInstalled since 1999 in the Parc André Citroën, it was madeand developed by Aerophile SA. The balloon had more thanhalf a million passengers.

Renamed "Air de Paris balloon" in 2008, it became an

indicator of  air quality by providing real-time reporton atmospheric pollution thanks to its lighting system.

Aviation museum

An aviation museum, air museum, or aerospace museum is

a museum exhibiting the history and artifacts of  aviation.  In

addition to actual or replica aircraft,  exhibits can

include photographs, maps, models, dioramas, clothing and

equipment used by aviators. 

The Canadian Aviation Museum was formed in 1964 at RCAF

Station Rockcliffe as the National Aeronautical Collection

from the amalgamation of three separate existing collections

These included the National Aviation Museum at Uplands

which concentrated on early aviation and bush flying; theCanadian War Museum collection, which concentrated on

military aircraft, and which included many war trophies, some

dating back to World War One, and the RCAF Museum which

focused on those aircraft operated by the Royal Canadian Air

Force. 

In 1982 the collection was renamed the National Aviation

Museum and in 1988 the collection was moved to a new

experimental type triangular hangar from the Second World

War-era wooden hangars it had been residing in. In 2006 an

additional hangar was opened, which allows all of the

collection's aircraft to be stored indoors.
