If you love to cook you probably have a plan in your mind of what your kitchen would look like if you were to do a remodel or a redesign. Let’s be honest, when you buy a home, there always seems to be one or two things that you could change and for a lot of people that one thing is the kitchen. Now if you like to cook, and you have a few design options that’s great. But, if you are starting fresh there may be a few things you have over looked. Below, you will find design ideas for Foodies and Chef's/Cooks alike. You can use this for more ideas to add to your kitchen or as a sort of a checklist. Either way, you are going to find some really awesome ideas. Using Dividers

Chances are you already have dividers in your kitchen drawers for things like silverware and butter knives. But, you can also find dividers for other things as well such as steak knives and chef knives. These are a great way to get the butcher block off of the counter and free up some space for more important things!

Refrigerated Drawers

One of the best ways to keep things cool or cold is by utilizing a refrigerator/freezer of cold drawers. You can keep things chilled or cold like milk and other dairy items, veggies and fruits, even steaks and other meats. You can also hold other items you need

to keep frozen in your freezer drawers such as homemade gelato or ice cream. Try to install these under a kitchen island for easy access, plus they will be out of the way when you have other things going on in the kitchen.

Double Ovens

When most people think of a double oven they think of those huge monsters that stack up on top of each other – these are also found in restaurant kitchens. But, this is a lot more efficient. It fits right in between the counter space like a regular oven, but it's one oven on top of the other. Perfect for Christmas dinner or Thanksgiving when you need to cook a bunch of things at once or different items at different temperatures.

Kitchen Islands

One thing that a lot of cooks or people that are foodies complain about in a kitchen is the lack of counter space. If you want to add more counter space, instead of adding more counters, you can try to use a kitchen island. These come in all sorts of great materials that are perfect for home cooks or people that like to entertain. Natural stone, for example, is heat resistant, so you can sit those pots right down on them and they won't bubble up like laminate tops. You can also start thinking about materials that are themed to what you like to cook/bake. For example, if you love to make homemade pizza dough, pasta, bread, and other items like this, you can think about a marble top – marble is a superb option because once you add the flour, its a nonstick surface, easy to clean, and its scratch resistant. You can even add two different materials to the kitchen island – one for baking items and another, say a butcher block or a stainless steel top on the other side of the island for cutting meats.

Stainless Steel Herb Shelves

Herb Shelves are made from stainless steel and are drawers, are a great way to incorporate fresh herbs, edible flowers, and plants into the kitchen. You use the trays as you would if you were planting them outside, place down planters put, some soil, your herbs and that’s it. Then you can pull out the drawer whenever you want some fresh

herbs or edibles and use them right from the drawers. Besides that, these happen to look cool with the little leaves poking out from the spaces above the drawer space. Consider adding lemongrass, basil, cilantro, green onions and more.

Vent Hoods

Every stove top has a vent of some sort, in a lot of cases, its just a regular old vent that allows the hot air, smells and smoke out of the kitchen. However, if you are a foodie, a cook or a so-called Chef and you want to create a warm and cozy kitchen with personality, there is nothing like buying a vent hood – these are much like the professional ones you find in restaurant kitchens. There are some cool options though from different materials to colors, to sizes and even different angles and bends in the hood itself so you can create a masterpiece that is fit for your specific kitchen!

If you spend a lot of time in your kitchen – whether its cooking fancy meals, comfort foods, or you just love to entertain, you can be assured that the above-mentioned options are more than enough to get the party started!
