With regards to revenue generation, Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) heads the list of Indiancompanies for 2011 according to the Forbes Global 500 List. In 2010, this oil company hadearned 68,837 million US dollars. 78.92 percent stakes in this organization are owned by thePresident of India. It also has the widest and biggest network of filling stations in India.
Out of the 21 oil refineries in India, 10are owned by the organization. It alsoowns the 98th position among the500 top companies of the world. Theorganization, based in Mumbai, alsooccupies the 18th spot in the list ofthe best petroleum companies of theworld.
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL)
Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) isthe biggest organization in the privatesector in India. In 2011, the companyattained the 134th spot in the FortuneGlobal 500 List and its revenue

State Bank of India (SBI)
In 2011 the State Bank of India (SBI)was able to increase its revenue from2010 but it slipped one place to the4th position in the rankings for Indiancompanies. In the global rankings
too, it has experienced a drop of 10 spots – in the 2010 Fortune Global 500 List it was at the282nd place.
In 2011, the banking organization earned revenues amounting to 32,450 million dollars whilein 2010 this figure stood at $28,213 million. Established at Mumbai in 1955 by the UnionGovernment, the organization is one of the biggest providers of financial and bankingservices in India.
Hindustan Petroleum
Hindustan Petroleum has the ownership of two of the top Indian oil refineries and is at the336th spot in the Fortune Global 500 List for 2011. Its net revenue for 2011 was 28,593

In addition to trucks and buses, Tata Motors deals in passenger cars, coaches, and vans. Itsplants are located at various parts of India and Argentina, Thailand, South Africa, and theUK. As per a survey by The Economic Times and Brand Finance, the organization has alsobeen rated as one of the most valuable Indian brands.
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC)
In the 2011 Fortune Global 500 list, the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) occupiesthe 361st spot and its revenues for that year amounted to 26,945 million dollars.
The oil and gas production and exploration organization is responsible for 81% of the naturalgas produced in the country. ONGC is set to purchase a 2 thousand acres property inDahanu in order to process offshore gas. It also earns the maximum profits among Indiancompanies.
Tata Steel
In the Fortune Global 500 list for 2011, Tata Steel occupies the 370th spot. It was

incorporated in 1907 and is presently among the biggest steel organizations of the world. Itoperates in 26 countries across the world and aims to reach the 100 million tons mark by2015.
