Here at House of Hud we know a thing or two about weddings – with Pearl Tents and Arabian Tents providing the backdrop to over 50 weddings a year, and what with talking to brides and grooms year-round about their ideas, inspirations and dreams and then helping to turn them into reality we get quite a good idea of what is hot and what is not!
Combine that with observations made by our Industry friends’ and we’ve compiled the Top 5 Trends you’ll be noticing at weddings in 2015… enjoy!
1. Quintessentially English
Whether it’s an afternoon tea reception, Victorian lace detailing, wild-flower garland table-runners, William Morris prints or lashings of strawberries and cream dessert – watch as people filter their favourite, quintessential aspects of shows like Downtown Abbey and the romanticism of an Austin novel into their big day.
There is a plethora of options when it comes to keeping your guests’ bellies full with food offerings at weddings and providing a plethora is exactly where it’s going in 2015…. Look out for mini finger buffets, street food stalls, oyster bars, fast food vans and a unique-to-your-wedding-day-cocktail-mix served in jam jars.
2. Hip to Sip
Not only is it budget-saving but adding touches like handmade garlands from your mother in law, homemade invitations by the bride and groom, a bit of baking from the mother of the bride… it’s all hands on deck to make it personal, unique and cheap.
Informal and unconventional weddings are in - pretentious and expensive are out.
3. DIY Bohemia
Using living herbs and flowers (that are planted afterwards!) make a great addition to table decorations, and bring the outside in.
Some twigs running along the tables and topiary encourage people look upwards, making the room look bigger.
