1Contemporary Sculptural Cabinetry

The Larkbeck furniture collections is a collaborative effort that explores the artistic potential of various home designs. In this case, the founders of the brand, Rafe Mullarkey and Laszlo Beckett, have concentrated on cabinets for pieces that are at once sculptural and contemporary.

2Monstrous Rocking Chairs

Russian designer Constantin Bolimond designs super cool rocking-chairs on which your toddlers can play and get over their fears of monsters.

3Jar-Inspired Seating

The main factor inspiring the design of the Latch Stool was the concept of collapsibility. But instead of relying on typical solutions such as folding mechanisms and more, the Latch Stool incorporates a latch hinge, which is most recognizably found on glass jars and bottles. Nevertheless, this seat is carved out of wood, which makes the application quite unique.

4Beautifully Balanced Recliners

It might not be often that you can use the word "graceful" to describe a seat, but this is certainly an appropriate term to describe the Ovis Lounge Chair. The Ladies & Gentlemen Studio has managed to build this recliner with elegant balance, despite the fact that the various components are brought together with slanted lines and slinging elements.

5Cord-Concealing Desks

If you're someone who despises the look of cluttered gadget cords scattered across your desk, the Artifox Desk is the perfect solution for your office. The Artifox Desk is designed with several cord-concealing compartments to keep your desk super organized.

6Stitched Minimalist Shelving

This aesthetic looking and chic, modular shelving system by Melbourne furniture designer Alex OConnell combines the latest in design innovation and minimalist modern style.

7Crafty Minimalist Homeware Collections

This brand new collection of interior pieces by Swedish designer and furniture extraordinaire Jangir Maddadi is charming and unique.

The Captain Chair and Grace Collection is made up of a super chic furniture duo, tabletops and chairs, that prove Maddadis craftsmanship, refined taste and contemporary simplicity.

8Fabric-Like Concrete Furniture

The Plane Draped Table may look like it is made out of a drab piece of fabric, but it is in fact fashioned out of concrete thanks to the invention of 3D printing. In spite of its lackluster coloring, the furniture piece is visually striking. This, of course, it due entirely to the texture and form that it takes on beautifully.

9Carved Lava Couches

The Onyx Sofa demonstrates how natural and cutting-edge materials are combined in order to establish aesthetic harmony. Looking at this contemporary bench, the slick and glossy left side is composed of carbon fiber; meanwhile, the rough and rugged right side is a hunk of hardened lava. The two are married together with great balance, despite the asymmetry of the piece and the very different textures and properties that the two sections possess.

10Bike Rack Benches

It is surprising that something like the Parametric Bike Stand doesn't exist already. And if it does somewhere in the world, why it hasn't been adopted by more cities. It combines a public bench with a bike rack to become a doubly functional outdoor fixture. Yet what makes the Parametric Bike Stand stand out in particular is not only its hybrid existence, but its overall design as well.

11Modernist Architecture Furniture

As far as modernist architecture furniture goes, it's all about natural materials and minimalist lines. That is, if Liam Treanor, a designer based in South London, United Kingdom, has anything to say about it. His latest collection, dubbed Santiago, is comprised of surprisingly playful pieces in spite of how simple they first appear.

12Dream-Inducing Daybeds

You will reach deep levels of relaxation when you lay down for a snooze on your Madera Teak Daybed. With the sun setting in on your veranda, you can hop into your daybed and peacefully drift off into a nice catnap. When a strong wind blows in or you want to have a bit of shade from the sun, all you need to do is pull the curtains closed and go back to drifting off.

13Comic-Like Cabinets

It's fascinating that the Wrongwoods Night Table should express so many different colors and textures and yet such surface treatments seem to somehow make it flatter in appearance. This playful piece is the product of a collaboration between the artistic Richard Woods and furniture designer Sebastian Wrong. The result is something quite contemporary, though influenced by retro styles.

14Elegant Plywood Lighting

The Canals Collection by DUX, a design studio founded by brother and sister duo Sander and Heleen Hagelaar, is a line of lighting inspired by their native Dutch canals. A combination of handcraft and industrial design, it was initially created as a school project by Sander, who happens to still be a product design student in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

15Deceptively Disintegrating Tables

Weightlessness by Eugene Tomsky, an industrial designer based in Saint Petersburg, Russia, is a table that looks as though it were in the process of disintegrating. The legs are deceptively carved and embedded in a transparent material in order to achieve this illusion. The result is visually striking in a chic and surprisingly simplistic way.

16Fictional Animal Rockers

Since a traditional rocking horse is made for children, it is only natural that more imaginative ones could be made, even if they involve fictional creatures like the Rocking Tauntaun does. Although inspired by the 'Stars War' franchise, it still fulfills all of the requirements set up by the rocking horse. It rocks, it provides a seat for the user and it resembles an animal.

17Confection-Copying Couches

Show your sweet interior decoration skills by outfitting your home with this chocolate couch. This unique piece of furniture was created by artsy furniture designer Tcherassi Vilat. Not only is it quirky and unique, but it is also very modern. A little word of warning though -- maybe dont eat any actual chocolate on the white leather.

18Geometric Furniture Bases

The Hedron Coffee Table is a stunning lesson in geometry and how it can be applied in the most creative of ways to everyday objects. Although this has been going on for the last few months, this design has a particularly raw quality about it that embraces the basic form beautifully. In fact, the base of the Hedron Coffee Table could easily be mistaken for oversized chemistry props.

19Minimalist Multitasking Desktops

This hybrid furniture piece is both a standing and sitting desk due to its shelf table feature. Ideal for busy designers, crammed spaces, families and people in wheelchairs, the Shelf of Tables is also a bookshelf. The minimalist yet multifunctional design comes from Matej Chebara, a recent graduate of the Royal College of Art.

20Suspended Steel Staircases

In order to maintain an open space, yet still create a slight divide in the Idunsgate apartment in Oslo, Haptic architects placed a suspended steel staircase in the center.

The design offers a small kind of divide between the two areas, without cutting them off from each other completely. The steel staircase looks like it's suspended in mid air, connected only at the second level. The result is an unobtrusive design that works well with this smaller apartment. Individuals can still have access to the floor above, while making the most of the living room and kitchen area. Half of the stairs are made from a white-coated steel, with the stepping area finished with a smooth wood.

21Origami-Like Seated Furniture

These origami chairs live up to their name. They look like they could have been folded precisely from a piece of paper and folded away for convenience. The delicately designed origami chairs come in pastel colors and offer comfort and beauty.

22Repurposed Skid Seating

It's interesting to see how the creator of the LC2 Chair has taken inspiration from such polished furniture designs of the modernist Le Corbusier and reworked them from bits of garbage. Echo System took the sorts of old wooden palettes that you find in warehouses and storage lots and used them to assemble one of the master's armchairs.

23Marvelously Modular Sofas

The Sofista is a modular three-seater couch that can be separated into three different seating units. In its default setting, it's a normal-looking three-seater couch with arms on each side. But when the arms are pulled away, one becomes the chair and the other a chaise lounge. In this mode, seating for two or three additional people becomes available but can be tucked back away when not required.

24Razor-Sharp Furnishings

If you're in search of sharp design in your dining room, the Blade Table will definitely cut it. At an incredible 11 millimeters thin, the eating surface manages to extend over two meters in span, supported by four slender supports that seem to barely touch the under sides of its beveled corners.

26Unique Utilitarian Tables

The WF Magazine Side Table might be described as utilitarian since it has no frills and is perfectly practical. However, this contemporary piece of furniture expresses itself with more character than that first identifier might suggest, thanks to its materials and clever composition.

26Oddly Assembled Furniture

IKEA has gotten easy furniture assembly down to a science, and Italian designer Teste di Legno ignores all of their helpful instructions for the Lato B series. This unconventional furniture collection consists of mixed and matched furniture sets that have been put together to create unusual desks and shelves.

27Minimalist Geometry Furnishings

The West Elm Origami Coffee Table takes visual inspiration from the Japanese art of paper folding. Supported by a light-weight, geometric frame, the furniture piece embodies a minimalist design aesthetic.

28Quirky Convertible Stools

The Ronzino Stool/Table is a wonderful piece, in part because we don't all live in mansions with the space and the money to invest in a broad range of furnishings. What you get with this delightful object is the flexibility of treating it as either a side table or a seat, plus the practicality of folding it up for easy storage.

29Versatile Kids Furniture

The versatile kids furniture designed by Dot and Cross is something every parent or guardian will fall in love with. Not only are the designs fresh, modern and stylish, they grow as the child grows so that money is not lost when updating bedrooms, playrooms and more. Fast Co Design reports that raising a child in the United States costs about $300,000, so it is only natural people would gravitate towards versatile kids furniture.

30Perforated Geometric Furniture

The Hexa Side Table takes the classic furniture piece and jazzes it up with a dynamic shape and a clean use of materials. As its name suggests, the tabletop is fashioned into a hexagonal shape, giving the accent table a geometric allure. But it doesn't stop there. The surface of the Hexa Side Table is perforated while the ends are folded down to add texture and strength to the overall design.

31Typography Office Desks

Fold Yard by Benoit Challand, a french creative image maker focused on digital art, 3D illustration and typography, could make open office spaces more widely accepted in the workplace. Each desk has been modelled after a letter in the name of the company. Although they look like cubicles from above, it is easily discernible that the low walls ensure everyone has a direct view of each other for convenient communications and more.

32Mobile Cardboard Furniture

This piece of furniture not only allows you to be more active by being able to stay upright while working, the standing portable desk is also extremely mobile and lightweight.

33Modular Wall Mounts

The latest way to get organized without the clutter of throwing your everyday belongings on the counter is by getting yourself the coolest smart solution for storing your things: the Geco Hub.

34Gun-Concealing Furniture

Action movies often have that one scene where an entire armory is revealed in an unsuspecting home; that space was probably furnished with a similar gun-concealing furniture collection as that offered by New Jersey Concealment Furniture. Although the pieces look like something out of grannies' cottage-like home, each piece boasts secret compartments to hold a range of firearms.

35Spherical Outdoor Loungers

The Cocoon Beach takes the idea of living in a bubble to a very relaxing level. While some may construe that idea as negative, it can only be interpreted as positive in this situation. By blocking out real life for a little while, people are able to indulge in a restfulness that could be considered second to none. Of course, the Cocoon Beach doesn't block out the important bits, such as its gorgeous surroundings.

36Edgeless Storage Systems

You might consider that many pieces of furniture -- and objects in general, for that matter -- are defined by the areas at which two planes come together. The Corner Collection Sideboard, on the other hand, has been stripped of those connections where you might expect to see them.

37Contemporary Polyhedral Tables

If you would like to furnish your family room with a modern accent that is free of physical fuss, the Pyramid Table is a minimalist piece that will succeed in homing in your focus. Designed by Beacon Manufacturing, this coffee table comprises a single geometric shape that's framed in a structure of supportive legs.

38Surrealist Safari Seating (UPDATE)

It should come as no surprise that Spanish designer Maximo Riera has once again ventured to the wildlife kingdom for inspiration for his latest animal chair creation.

39Fluid Modern Stools

At first glance, Trio is a modern stool that appears to have been inspired by a flower of some sort. It boasts a fluid form that comes together like pedals to create the seat portion. Although aesthetically pleasing, the design of the modern stool is actually inspired by its construction. A perfect balance between function and form, it is completely jointless, which makes it quite interesting.

40Table Topography

Although it would be easy to say that the table topography making up the River Collection is inspired by the flow of rivers, it is acutally influenced "by the exciting edges and vivid grains found in the trees sustainably taken from the banks of the Nooksack River," writes the designer, Greg Klassen. This river happens to be right below his Pacific Northwest studio. No wonder he has designed table topography.

41Affordable Storage Options

As homes get smaller, people are becoming more concerned about organization; enter Ikea storage options. Chic and affordable, the go-to furniture company is focusing on storage in its upcoming 2015 catalog. Set to be released in August of this year, the Ikea storage options are plentiful and varied.

42Outward-Arching Shelving

Bookcases often take very stiff profiles, but the Curve Lean Shelf most certainly does not. This storage system has been designed to take a subtle curvature that accents the room in which it stands. Kittipoom Songsiri's piece is quite fine in form with its slender para plywood segments, yet a little compositional creativity makes it a possible focal point in a room.

43Sewer Pipe Seating

How comfortable would you feel in the Cloche Sofa? Carlo Sampietro has come up with a fascinating and challenging concept with his 'The Street is in the House' masterpiece project. This incredible couch actually comprises a real section of a retired segment of the New York City sewage system

44Gilded Mindfulness Armchairs

Maintaining good posture is so important during sessions of reflection and prayer, and Meditation Seat Ware has been designed to assist with that. There are all sorts of cushions and meditation stools on the market, but these can be terribly uncomfortable for some people and hardly worth the encouragement of a straight spine.

45Rope-Secured Desks

A piece of cord might not look like much, but the String Table demonstrates how useful such an item can be. You won't find the expected nuts, bolts and glue holding this piece of furniture together, for it is a clever system of notches and a little spanning rope that enable the object to stand steadily.

46Atypical Abstract Furniture

Designer Kelly Behun's Neo Laminati unconventional furniture collection is full of asymmetrical furniture pieces designed from obscure shapes. These decor pieces would make a great addition to any contemporary home that is interested in featuring a mod interior design.

47Quirky Multifunctional Furnishings

Plus Function is a Swedish furniture studio that offers a range of "multifunctional products with an edge" and this definitely comes through with its quirkily combined home furnishings.

48Productivity-Boosting Desks

Writers always feel like they spend their whole lives stuck on a creaky writing laptop desk staring at a blank screen. If you're a writer, designer or anyone who spends a lot of time working on your laptop you'll know exactly what i'm talking about. So if you are in need of some inspiration or productivity boost, then treat yourself to this gorgeously designed Wynd Writing Desk.

49Wraparound Sofa Shelves

If reaching over your couch to get to the nearby coffee table, side or end table is too much for you, this couch arm table will be the ideal addition to your home. Available from Quebec, Canada's Blisscraft & Brazen, the Couch Arm Wrap is a wooden shelf that fits around the arm of your sofa to rest things upon. Whether it's a beverage, food or work, this product makes doing things on the couch an easier experience.

50Ritzy Modern Recliners

The Opper Lounge Chair looks like a classic piece of furniture that's been extracted from a magnificent mid-twentieth-century building by Mies van der Rohe and updated slightly to contemporary tastes. Flaunting some intriguing asymmetries, the recliner embodies a beautiful marriage between some very handsome and high-quality materials.

51Contrasting Bed-Side Stands

It was clever of the designer of the Metropolis Bedside Tables to consider a practical and poetic treatment to the creation of bedroom furnishings. This space is one in which the average person falls asleep in the dark of night and wakes up to the morning sunrise (latitude, season and occupation dependent), giving the experience of that room a duality.

52Groovy Asymmetrical Seating

Few rooms in the home tend to be symmetrical, so why don't more furnishings embody the unbalanced quality that the Hunting Lines Sofa does. This idiosyncratic chesterfield is so unlike the usual uniform seating system, bringing more dynamism to interior spaces and inviting you to settle into it with more natural postures.

53Chic Eco-Friendly Cradles

These charming baby cradles were designed by an eco-friendly company called Woodly. The chic gender neutral designs in this collection include the Roll, Pluma and Montessori

54Hybrid Pool Tables

Pool tables can generally be very bulky and take up a lot of space in your home. If that is a reason why you are holding back on getting one, this Fusion Table is perfect for you. Its latest table innovation is the Fusion Pool Table. It is an impressively manufactured dining table that conceals a billiard table within it.

55Compact Home Farm Kits

Urban farming is increasing in popularity and the Modular Chicken Coop kit would make it a great deal more accessible. Plenty of people are turned off by the idea because installing everything can require a great deal of effort; meanwhile, this DIY set can be quickly and easily assembled for a system that's self-contained and compact.

56Divine Shoe-Drying Shelves

If it weren't for the power cord escaping from the rear of the Spare Shoe Rack, would you have guessed that this piece of furniture had hi-tech capabilities? It was the intention of Stefanie Schissler to come up with a subtle and beautiful solution to a supremely practical storage system -- one that would have the ability to tidy the front foyer while drying your wet boots.

57Energy-Boosting Desks

It's been proven that our sitting habits at work -- for extended periods of time -- will not only affect our health because of posture issues, but our productivity as well, so treat yourself to the StorkStand mobile standing desk and give your body a break.

58Sunken Timber Seating

One might usually examine the legs of a chair to determine the strength and the stability of it, but that's because few chairs suggest weakness in the seat as the Split Chair does. Naturally, Roni Shalmon designed this piece of timber furniture to be sufficiently sturdy; however, the way that it has been shaped is a quirky detail that may rouse suspicion.

59Shape-Changing Light Fixtures

Pixar has shown the world that inanimate objects are as full of personality as humans are and the Filo Lamp follows suit. It is a ceiling-suspended light fixture that changes change in order to embrace a variety of moods and traits.

60Infant-Accommodating Tables

The Baby In Table would be a practical family room inclusion if your child has recently learned to crawl. Keeping tabs on newly mobile bubs can be a bit of a challenge when there's always something to get done around the house.

61Transformative Table-Shelves

The one constant in both designs is the iron base, which stays the same. But when you're looking for a change, the five shelves of the storage unit flatten out and rotate to serve as the tabletop surface. It seems like it would be a hassle to have to clear off the shelves every time you need a flat surface for dining or entertaining, but otherwise, the way the table changes from one piece of furniture to another is really quite impressive.

62Privacy Fort Furniture

Goula Figuera, a Barcelona-based design studio founded by Pablo Figuera and lvaro Goula, has designed a playful couch that promotes privacy. It is essentially a day bed that can be converted into a fun pillow fort for those who are looking to escape into a well-deserved sanctuary. Although Goula Figuera clearly designed it with adults in mind, it is a piece of furniture that will be equally attractive to children.

63Lounging Desktop Designs

You are intended to approach The Desk by Minna Magnusson in a way that's entirely unconventional to the approach of your typical workstation. Usually, you might expect to pull up a chair towards the rigid tabletop of an escritoire, but the flat panels of this piece take two segments with different slopes.

64Adaptable Desk Designs

Some of the most efficient and productive office environments have open plans and it's setups like what the Duo Office Workstation presents that make these sorts of spaces truly effective. This versatile desk encourages communication between employees to establish a collaborative atmosphere in which ideas are born and projects are expertly completed.

65Split Timber Seating

It's easy to appreciate the lovely organic look of the Branch Stools, featuring bases made from the forking sections of separating boughs. Bereuter and schindlersalmern collaborated on these charming seating objects, succeeding to remind people of the natural beauty of this type of wood.

66Wilderness Refuge Workstations

It's enlightening to note that the Tipi Modular Shelving System was inspired by the the lifestyle of backpacking. The designer, Assaf Israel, came to appreciate the value of lightweight and adaptable living over the course of one year of traveling. Such discoveries helped to produce a piece of furniture that's easy to assemble, to disassemble, and to accommodate all sorts of needs in one's diverse domestic environment.

67Multi-Purpose Laptop Tables

With more people streaming video on their laptops and mobile devices, stationary TV tables are becoming a thing of the past. However, they could come back in style if they were all as practical and multi-functional as the Work/Play TV Table by Instructibles user 'craftclarity.

68Aquarium Kitchen Islands

Having a good-sized aquarium in your home can take up a lot of space, but Kolenik's unique kitchen counter combines the kitchen island with a showstopping fish tank.

69Unfolding Eating Surfaces

In its most compact state, Yifei Chai's convertible contraption is small enough to be a side table. What's fascinating is that the Origami Table is made from a core layer of aluminum, a wooden veneer finish and fine kevlar hinges. You can unfold the console into a desk that's double the size, and even into a kitchen table with four times the surface area.

70Multifunctional Minimalist Furniture

This space-saving furniture design is intended for people living in extremely small spaces. Created for 5 square meter living, YATNO was founded by Design Academy Eindhoven grad Joey Dogge. The brand consists of multifunctional pieces made out of a minimalist wood frame.

71Elegantly Organized Furnishings

West Elm's Double Storage coffee table is accented with white lacquer panels and ash veneer casing. The furniture piece also sits of wooden legs that are showcased in a Pecan finish.

72Curvaceous Furniture Artworks

If you want a real change in your living room, not just a couch with a color or fabric but a real noticeable change, have a look at the collection of surreal furniture by Lila Jang.

73Beetle-Like Storage Cabinets

Most people are typically not fans of insects in the home, but considering the beauty of 'BUG,' an interesting wooden cabinet design, perhaps some exceptions could be made.

74Modular Suspended Ledges

There is no shortage of standard bookshelves available for those who require a quick fix for clutter. Alternatively, the Link Shelf is a product that inspires the user to have more of an impact on his own interior decor. Specifically a wall-mounted storage system, this Studio Hausen creation encourages a bit of creativity, facilitating both fun and function.

75

Hybrid Sofa Beds

While sofa beds are already convenient with their pull-out bed designs, this creative product has added on another unique feature in the form of a handy wall storage unit. Allowing homeowners to use this product in several ways including a couch, pull-out bed and storage space, this MurphySofa Sectional Wall Bed is the ideal furniture piece for people tight on space. Great for studio apartments or simply for having guests over, the MurphySofa Sectional Wall Bed will help make organizing small spaces much easier.

76Transforming Desk Tables

With every hatch of the Working and Dining Table closed up, the piece of furniture looks like a fairly average kitchen table. Made from timber, it has four legs and a generous rectangular surface that could comfortably seat four people and accommodate up to six.

77Vibrant Geometric Book Shelves

A book shelf that carries ones favorite books and most worldly literature can be a defining factor in a home. For the well-read among us, a book shelf is a key part of ones personal space and as such should have the personality to match. This book shelf has personality in spades and it shows it in a variety of ways.

78Planetarium Pod Sleepers

Natalia Rumyantseva's design takes the shape of a capsule, providing the snoozing occupant with a privacy hood that keeps his head beneath shadows. Lining the entire inside of the shell are small and brilliant LED lights that illuminate like stars in the night sky.

79Oversized Feline Couches

This couch was initially an art installation for Belgian design studio Unfold in Luchtbal, Antwerp. His name and the installation are known as Felis Domesticus (which translates to House Cat) and he is made out of felt. This couch reaches widths of 3.5 meters and would be ideal for spacious apartments and even bedrooms. This is only one of five feline themed exhibitions; be prepared for some crazy cat celebrations.

80Fashionably Smart Furniture

The idea of smart furniture is not an extremely common one in today's day and age. However, with the rate that technology is advancing and considering how many people live with their phones an arms-length away, household items that incorporate these devices would come in handy.

81Tidy Minimalist Tech Desks

The Artifox 01 is a stylish tech desk that provides a practical and modern workspace for those who are overloaded with mobile devices and the mess of cords that they require. The desk provides places to conceal away cables, dock phones or tablets and even a peg for resting headphones on, so that they don't get tangled or sat on.

82Isolation Serenity Pods

Stress is one of the modern world's biggest health issues. The Tranquillity Pod is designed to block out an incredible 90% of the world's outside noise. Made from fiber glass, the Tranquility Pod has an integrated four speaker sound system that plays your music and can create subtle vibrations within the memory foam cushions that cover a temperature controlled waterbed. The Tranquility Pod even has a "biofeedback system" that synchronizes your heartbeat with ambient mood lighting generated by 50 LEDs located within the pod.

83Chicly Upcycled Furntiture

The work of Leo Capote will have people questioning their own classic furniture pieces in no time. Not only will them seem more boring, they may even be regarded as a bit of a waste. Leo Capote creates his designs by upcycling discarded items such as hammers, shovels and even pool balls. Yet instead of looking kitschy, his furniture designs are pretty chic.

84Bedsore-Preventing Mattresses

Injured and sick individuals who are bedridden have more to worry about than their weakened state, which the Air Cocoon by Horatio Yuxin Han, a Chinese designer based in Boston, Massachusetts, addresses. It is a special kind of mattress that helps to prevent bedsores.

85Stylish Sofa Beds

Coming across a comfortable and practical yet stylish sofa bed can be a chore few are unwilling to undertake. After all, they never seem to come close to the tasteful aesthetics of one-trick couches. But that hasn't stopped some designers from trying.

86Gestalt-Inspired Storage Units

Based on the gestalt principles, the Modular Shelves by Reinier de Jong, an industrial designer based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, is a bit of an improvement on a past design. Working off of the framework for theREK Bookcase, it addresses the problem that it required a lot of space to install it. Although this storage unit can also take up a lot of room, it is meant to be built over time so that people create a custom design that fits their space and lifestyle best.

87Tablet Stand Side Tables

With all of the low- and hi-tech toys that you've acquired over the years, the Nomad Nightstand would be a great addition to your bedroom. Managing to maintain a compact form, the modern piece of furniture can juggle quite a few of your assorted possessions.

88Two-Legged Chairs

The hazards of sitting down all day at office jobs has resulted in a slew of interesting solutions, one of which involves a two-legged chair. Just as it sounds, this two-legged chair focuses on 'bearable discomfort' in order to promote healthier work days. Instead of struggling at a standing desk, this solution activates people's core while also encouraging some movement in order to combat the negative effects of being constantly sedentary.

Designed by Benoit Malta, a designer based in Paris, France, the two-legged chair is dubbed, 'Inactivite.' By balancing on such a seat, "it passively stimulates other parts of the body, much like an exercise ball," writes Design Milk. The two-legged chair also ensures better posture.

89Slot-Stored Tables

The Mastro Table is a flatpack table that does not rely on hinges. The piece can be completely disassembled with ease and reorganized for compact storage when it isn't needed. The way that it does this is quite clever:

Gumdesign's idea was to take a sheet of metal and to fold two of its opposite edges in with a pair of creases on either side. What this modification does is strengthen the already-stiff iron material and create two mirrored channels. The manufacturer, DeCastelli, makes a set of wooden supports to form inwards-slanted legs and joining lintels. These crossbars can be slotted right into the Mastro Table in one of three orientations. The design enables you to face the posts in or out to flatten it away, or downwards to set up a functional elevated eating surface.

90Rad Repurposed Couches

A bit of versatility to the design of the Moon Sofa enables you to include or remove a sloped backrest. The unique piece is a brilliant symbol of the lunar satellite, as the Latvian notion of changeability and new life.

91Fluid Silhouette Tables

Babled's organic, fluid forms immediately draw the eye in; the fact that the tables are so low to the ground is yet another aspect that sets them apart. The unorthodox shapes were created with the help of a Computer Numerical Control robot. Beyond shape and form, Babled also experimented with material, specifically marble and wood. The full range of material used in the range is marble, bronze, copper, plexiglass and wood, meaning that there's a table for everyone, and every space.

92Elegant Earthy Furnishings

One can appreciate the Primitive Console for its natural qualities, yet its components express their organic aesthetics in very different ways. One part of the coffee table has been made from a highly manipulated material while the other appears to have been left to take an unrefined form.

93Abstract Modular Furniture

Designed by Sebastian Errazuriz, the Explosion Cabinet was recently acquired by the Carnegie Museum of Art (CMOA). When closed up, it looks like a simple credenza. Yet when people pull on either or both ends, it becomes a sculptural interpretation of a big blast. It is finished with transparent glass sidewalls to provide a glimpse inside this intriguing but staid box. Surprising and provocative, the Explosion Cabinet shows that nothing is ever what it seems. People should always expect the unexpected.

94Modern Rocking Hammocks

Designer Georg Bechter is behind the Woorock Hammock Swing, which is essentially an easy to set up hammock that also behaves like a rocking chair. This simple and modern design was built to provide consumers with maximum comfort after a long day at the office.

95Cubby-Integrated Couches

The designer of the Geta Sofa understands that when you provide a cozy place to sit, the user will quite likely come along with a book, a gadget or a snack with which to snuggle up. For this reason, the seating system was created to incorporate a storage compartment that may also serve as a side table.

96Built-In BBQ Tables

It is essentially a round outdoor table with a built-in barbecue in the center. The JAG Grill allows people to eat in a more sophisticated fashion without losing out on the fun of such get-togethers.

97Quirky Animated Furniture

If you have an itch for a truly quirky furniture set, then this ensemble by Straight Line Designs will scratch it for you. Not everyone wants to have the basic or classic style in their home and because of this, having strange and whimsical pieces can be a plus.

Whether it's a table that looks like it's lifting one of its legs to pee or a couch that looks to be peeling back like a sardine can, you can be sure that you're getting something unique. The goofy thing about these pieces is that they don't just look good, they're also incredibly functional and sturdy.

98Boxed Bedroom Solutions

The LOIOS project demonstrates that filling a house with furniture is not the only way to make it comfortable and livable. Modular pods -- which I suppose could be considered as giant pieces of furniture -- are placed within the otherwise empty rooms of an old apartment building in Porto, Portugal.

The firm OODA was actually thinking outside of the box when it came up with the clever concept of creating cozy capsules. The large containers integrate all of the necessary comforts and equipment to serve as complete bedrooms, bathrooms or kitchens. The prefabricated units are constructed with many layers of materials including Valcromat, steel, fiber glass, cement fiber board and wood. To give the charcoal-colored LOIOS monoliths additional character, the designer gave them patterned perforations on the outside, emitting starry light when the interiors are illuminated.

99Reorienting Couch Backrests

With a simple glance, you can appreciate how the Iceland Sofabed would make a comfy place to sleep. Looking rather like a futon, the Ellen Berger piece has a large mattress-like cushion that might be wide enough to accommodate two guests snugly. You just need to move the backrest out of the way.

The maple armrests can actually pivot forward, taking the rear support with them. Rotate the backrest all the way to the floor in front of the chesterfield and you'll discover the wooden panel that covers its underside. This can be lifted up, revealing a slender storage compartment that houses your extra linens and pillows. With the timber lid replaced, this part of the Iceland Sofabed functions as a lengthy sort of bedside table.

100Suspended Space-Saving Sleepers

The Space is Luxury Bed is aptly named. It is a bed that can be raised up to the ceiling when not in use, thus freeing up a good amount of real estate below for whatever the home owner could need it for. The name of the bed is beautifully scrawled on the bottom in a contemporary graffiti graphic, reminding people of the motto every time they look up at it.

Designed by architect Renato Arrigo, the Space is Luxury Bed was built for a small apartment located in the historical centre of Taormina, Sicily, Italy. The corners of the bed have been outfitted with cleats that have super sturdy ropes tied to them. These ropes work with a pulley system in order for it to be raised and lowered as needed.
