Tom's Tips On Buying RV - Saskatchewan RV Dealers

Think about this! TRX RV is the exclusive (and only) dealer for Saskatoon and surrounding area for every one of the popular products found at our store. Please, do not be misled by any supposed competitor who may deceive consumers into believing they can also supply some of the RVs that TRX carries. An RV dealer who is not an authorized supplier must purchase his stock from some other retail dealer. When you pay for one of these coaches, you become the 2nd owner. Consequently your coach won’t have the factory warranty that is normally honoured by any dealer in your manufacturer’s North American dealer network. Also, these coaches ARE NOT CSA certified. Doesn’t matter what they tell you – they’re NOT. Will this matter to you? It could… if you sell your coach and the subsequent owner has a tragic accident… such as a family member succumbing to carbon monoxide since the safety package does not conform to CSA (Canadian Standards). So, how do you know…?

MAJOR CLUE – Be wary of a dealership that:- stocks none of, or only a few of, the units of any given line- is not a member in good standing of the Saskatchewan RV Dealers Association- does not appear on the ‘Find A Dealer’ feature of a manufacturer’s website- has no brochures, or only one, or say they’re low on brochures, of a line they talk about- contends they represent a line but, you can’t substantiate this claim with a simple call to the factory yourself

My door is always open (top of the stairs) to discuss this issue. Now, we’ve been RVDA members since our inception (I am the Sask rep. on RVDA Canada’s N’tnl HR / Training committee). We are the factory authorized sales/service location for the products we carry, and our factory-trained staff work hard to enhance your RV ownership experience. Thanks for your attention. Tom

“Integrity and honesty are more important to people these days than ever. They are to me, and I’m sure they are to you, too!”

OTHER RV INDUSTRY NEWSTimes are challenging for some RV dealerships. Many hundreds of US dealers have closed. Furthermore, many manufacturers (see list below) have ceased operations, while still others have closed plants, consolidated, laid-off workforces, or scaled back dramatically somehow. Things are better here in Canada, but you need to know that some of the inventory for sale today on RV lots is from manufacturers who’ve closed their doors. These units will not have warranty. You could buy a warranty (although that negates the savings achieved in this type purchase) but it’s inferior to OEM warranty and not transferrable to future owners. The result? Should you trade or sell, your unit will have depreciated much more than those from viable operations. If you purchase an RV built by a defunct mfg. there is no ‘manufacturer’s network’ to service you, or any subsequent owners.

To our understanding, manufacturers no longer in operation are: Alfa Leisure, Ameri-Camp, Bigfoot, Chinook, Dolphin, Extreme RV, King of the Road, National RV, NuWa Industries, Pilgrim International, PLAY-MOR, Sun Valley Inc, Sunline Coach, Teton Homes, Trail Wagons, Travel Supreme, Weekend Warrior, Western RV Inc., Fleetwood, General Coach (West) and West Coast Leisure Homes, to name a few.

THINK ABOUT THISIt’s even more important now for sober second-thought about the supposed wisdom in purchasing from US-based dealers. Partial or full payment is forfeit in the event of closure. Service would be an even more remote option, when issues arise with your RV. At TRX we match deal quotes to incentivize Saskatchewanians to buy here. One of Saskatoon’s 50 Top Companies 2 years running, TRX RV injects well in-excess of $1,000,000 into our local economy each year through payroll and taxes, philanthropy and other spending. TRX RV is making a significant contribution to Saskatoon. We’re proud of this city and happy to call it home. We hope that you in turn, keep $$s flowing locally for the good of us all, assuming naturally, the deal is fair for you.

“Best selection, best price, guaranteed or we’ll encourage you to shop elsewhere!”

We’ve been a member in good standing of RVDA Saskatchewan & RVDA CANADA since 2003! Why not ensure that other dealers you may be considering are considered membership-worthy by their peers?

We offer several unique programs on both New & Used RV purchases that other dealers do not. Once you’ve done your homework… we trust we’ll see you and your family at our huge indoor campground on the Idylwyld Drive North service road to pick out the perfect RV for your family’s special holiday vacation. So, please come in and see our friendly sales staff, all of whom are very knowledgeable and willing to work for your business.

Every TRX RV unit qualifies for low-rate, long-term financing so, you get more RV for lower scheduled investments. Come on in and get a great deal! WHAT’RE YOU WAITING FOR?
