Export news on the beef front appears excellent. Packer margins appear cruddy.With $127 live on cattle last week, lots of closeouts are in that break evenrange. Break evens will probably climb so hopefully a seasonal surge in beefdemand will shoot these cattle higher. We did our part, grilling a N.Y. strip loinfor the Iowa State game watch party. I’ll promise the loin tasted much betterthan the game. Tell your friends and neighbors, fire up the grill!!!

FED CATTLE/WEIGH COWS TUES, MARCH 13TH: Fed cattle were basicallysteady. Packers are awfully short bought on inventory. Maybe we can get these thingworking a bit higher. Weigh cows were lower also. Lots of cows coming yet, which isn’tgood news to an industry that needs to sell all our momma cows raise calves.
