Linking Verbs (“being” verbs)
• Linking verbs are called linking verbs because they link the subject of the sentence with the noun, pronoun, or adjective that follows the verb and completes the meaning of the linking verb.
• Think of a linking verb like an = sign.
I am gorgeous.
He is not gorgeous.

That apple is rotten.
