TNAU Celebrates NCC Day

NCC Day has been celebrated in the last week of November every year. As

part of NCC day celebrations, National Cadet Corps of 4 & 5 TN Battalion NCC,

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University arranged series of lectures on “Career

opportunities in Defence Services” by the Army Officers.

Dr. K. Ramasamy, Vice Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University,

Coimbatore presided over the function. He praised role of NCC in shaping the

young NCC cadets in the welfare of our country. Col. MP. Celestine, Group

Commander, Coimbatore NCC Group was the Chief Guest and offered his special

address. He narrated his experience in Indian Army and employment opportunities

in Armed forces.

The Alumni of TNAU and former Army Officer Capt. P. Dheenadhayalan

and Training Commander of Center for Career in Uniform Services, Coimbatore

and former Naval Architect, Lt. S. Esan shared their experience in Indian Army

and Navy, among the cadets. Alumni of TNAU and the Officer Cadet selected as

Asst. Commandant in Indian Coast Guard Mr. S. Sudharshan explained about the

preparations for the exams in Indian Army.

Dr. S. Mahimairaja, Dean (Agriculture), Tamil Nadu Agricultural

University, Coimbatore in his address, stressed the role of NCC cadets in Nation

building and felicitated the students and explained the role of NCC in shaping the

young cadets.

Around 100 students were benefited out of it. The NCC officer Capt.

Dr. S. Manonmani welcomed the gathering and Lieutenant K. M. Sellamuthu made

the arrangements for the function and offered the vote of thanks.
