Tips to Stay Safe on Your Motorcycle When you ride a motorcycle, you are often

taking your life into your own hands, not

because motorcycles are inherently

dangerous, but because the cars on the road

often put you at higher risk.

That’s not to say that there aren’t any dangers

specific to motorcycles, but staying safe on the

road takes a lot, especially when you are on a

bike. Here are a few tips that can keep you

safe on the road even on the worst of days.

Keep Your Mind Clear and Prepare for the Road Because motorcycles lack the material protection of other cars and trucks on the road, a lot of your

protection needs to come from your clear mind. If you are feeling absentminded or angry, it is a good

idea to stay off your bike for the day.

Anytime you feel emotional, distracted or sick, you should thinki twice about jumping on your bike. Tiny

mistakes caused by these very distractions can lead to much bigger consequences.

Inspect your Bike for Safety before You Hit The Road Every time you take to the road with your motorcycle you should do a quick check on your tires,

controls, lights, oil, chassis and stands. This inspection should keep you much safer on the road since

these are some of the most common bike related malfunctions on the road.

Most fatal accidents on the road are not related to issues on the bike, but a quick check can ensure that

none of these preventable dangers occur.

Keep Your Speed in Check When you’re on the road with your bike, it can be

difficult to keep your speed in line, it feels like just

you and the open road. But, many of the deaths that

occur in motorcycle accidents are when motorcyclists

are traveling at above the posted speed limit.

Higher speeds prevent you from being able to correct

errors of any kind, and that means that you are at a

higher risk of accident when a small mistake occurs.

If you dig speed, try racing on a closed course so you

can minimize the chance of an accident and maximize

your speed.

Increase Your Visibility Most motorcycle accidents occur because drivers simply don’t see them, so to ensure that you are safe

on the road you should try to be as visible as possible. By keeping visible you should be able to avoid a

lot of the danger surrounding riding your motorcycle.

Make Safety a Priority Your motorcycle is pretty awesome, and you deserve to keep it on the road for as long as you possibly

can. By being safe and keeping your Motorcycle insurance in Henderson up to date, you can maximize

your motorcycle use so you can be safe and cool for the long run.

When you hit the roads today make sure that you keep your safety on your mind, and enjoy the ride.

Make the most out of the open roads and have a ride to remember—not an accident.
