There can be many issues in roofing if it is damaged anyhow. There can be many factors

affecting the roof like harsh weather conditions, bad roofing installation Etc. Roofing can

cause leakage to if not installed properly.

One must check the simplest solutions first

1) Dark spots and trails.

2) Signs of water damage or leaking.

3) Places where the roof deck is sagging.

4) Outside light showing through the roof.

5) Missing, cracked or shingles with holes must be main focus.

One must check for following things before getting roofing repair done:-

Missing Shingles Replace missing shingles with similar

ones and if not available use rust free

metal to cover up and paint it with

similar color. Place the metal shingle

under upper surface and cut out old

nails.

Hole on roofing Holes are first step of destruction of roofing. Roofing shingles start corroding and weaken the shingles. These holes must be patched up and permanent solutions must be looked by a roofing expert. Fill large holes with cement or with heavy cloth.

Cracks in Roofing Brushing 1-2 coats of roof coating can be done to stop further damage and also one must be careful not to step near 6 inches from the cracked shingle. Use a metal sheet to patch it up and place a heavy cloth until a local roofing contractor fixes it up.

What's the roof made of? One must be also aware what kind of roofing is installed so that further actions can be taken accordingly and find similar roofing for patching the damaged part of roof. If unknown one can call a roofing expert.

If the damage seem to be much high, than one can take a estimate cost of roof repair.

Than one can also consider for complete roofing change and start over with new roofing

with taking in consideration issues with old roofing and all leaks and internal damages

must be fixed and proper installation of new roofing must be done.
