Many laws protect you during the recruiting process.

You cannot be discriminated or turned away because of your Age, Race, Gender, Sexual Orientation, Religion, Gender Identity or Ethnicity!

They can say no or turn you away if you are not qualified for the job!

Never be late!

Dress the partDo your homework about the workplace.

See what people are wearing when you fill out the application.

Leave the piercings ,rings, necklaces and other jewelry at home

If you have tattoo’s wear a long sleeve shirt or blouse

Short skirts, plunging necklines, tight or very loose clothing are not acceptable in most workplaces

Dirty clothes, un-ironed shirts and/or pants/skirts not acceptable in most work places

No T-shirts with slogans

Keep the makeup and/or perfume light or wear none

Inform the recruiter that you may need to take a call due to an EMERGENCY if it is an dire situation

The interview is a two way processIs an opportunity for them to determine if you are the best candidate for the opening

Is also opportunity for you to determine if you want to work for them

Ask open ended questionsWhat qualities are you looking for?

Stay away from yes or no questions as much as possible

Ok to ask work related questions such as:Can you tell me about my co-workers and my future boss?

Why is there an opening?

What is the starting salary?

What are the work hours?

Stay away from asking the recruiter questions that delve into your personal life
