Page 1: Tips for going green as a car owner

Going green There’s no doubt that driving isn’t beneficial to the environment. But if you are worried about the impact, and want to be greener there are many things you can do, to reduce this.

1. Get rid of any unnecessary weight. Things such as roof racks that aren’t in use, can weight down your car even more, which means more petrol is needed.

2. Plan ahead. If you need to make a journey, does it need to be during rush hour? If not, you can cut down the impact on the environment by not stopping and starting on your journey so much.

3. Do you really need to take the car? Although a car often is a necessity for some journeys, sometimes it’s better to walk, to save money and the atmosphere.

4. Be wary of your driving. Drive at a sensible pace, rather than putting your foot down to get through the lights, this burns through more petrol.

If you follow these steps you will help contribute towards a healthy environment. Cars are a necessity in this modern day, but we can also benefit from walking those shorter journeys.
