DANGERS OF DIRTY TILES & GROUT

MOULD/MILDEW - Dirty grout is an ideal breeding ground for

mould/mildew in damp areas. Mould is a health hazard potentially causing respiratory problems like asthma and allergies. Mould/mildew can have a damaging effect to the immune system of babies and the elderly and is a hiding place for harmful germs and bacteria.

TERRACOTTA TILES

Terra cotta tiles are made from raw clay. The tiles are water, allergen and bacteria resistant and very affordable. Terra cotta tiles are relatively soft and porous and can stain and scratch easily. It must be sealed twice after installation and needs regular cleaning and sealing to maintain its original appearance. Great for both indoor and outdoor uses - kitchen, bathroom, patio, pool decks etc.

TRAVERTINE TILESTravertine tiles are natural stone tiles, the same as granite and

marble. Its surfaces are highly susceptible to abrasive and corrosive substances. Travertine tiles are best suited for any interior floors, from the kitchen to the living room. It is necessary to clean and reseal the tiles periodically to protect the tiles against scratches and stains.

SLATE TILESSlate is composed of thin layers of compacted sedimentary stone.

These tiles are hard and durable. It is very versatile and can be used either indoors or outdoors. It looks lovely in a living area as well as a porch.
