Disrupt your status quo. Challenge assumptions. Embrace uncertainty. Stand with us on unfamiliar ground with unfamiliar materials and activities.

On the first day of your experience, the Innovation Institute will activate your capacity to be creative as you are guided through a series of individual and collaborative exercises. During the session, you will face disruptive challenges that require risk-taking and courage to resolve, helping you to see possibility in otherwise overlooked places.

Building on the momentum of the first day, the journey continues inward the following day to explore your own personal resources. Inquire within to see what leads or inhibits your creativity by questioning personal assumptions, rules, and beliefs.

“Think Like An Artist: Creativity, Curiosity & Courage” helps you fulfill your creative capacity, unleash your curiosity, and summon the courage to act on your ideas.

FROM OUR “THINK LIKE AN ARTIST” SERIES, THE INNOVATION INSTITUTE’S 2-DAY CREATIVITY, CURIOSITY & COURAGE EXPERIENCE IS DESIGNED TO HELP YOU CONNECT WITH YOUR INNATE CREATIVITY AND UNDERSTAND HOW IT FEEDS INNOVATION IN YOUR PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL LIFE.

William D. “Bill” Parmelee Chief Financial Officer Oxbow Carbon

“My Innovation Institute experience helped me to think about the motivations of others and altered my management style. I gained more freedom in discussing what’s going on in my mind and not assuming people know what I’m thinking. I open the conversation up to challenges .”

WE ARE READY. ARE YOU?

The Innovation Institute’s “Think Like An Artist” series will help you learn how to see, think, and play like an artist. Experience a mindset shift that will enable you to see the world from new and novel perspectives. Are you:

• Interested in exploring and strengthening your creative capacity? • Looking to find renewed meaning in your work? • Experiencing a life or career transition and contemplating the next phase of your life? • Wanting to develop and fulfill your personal leadership potential?

HOW DO I ENROLL?

Visit our website at mccollcenter.org/innovation-institute to register and to find additional program details about your upcoming experience. Since class size is limited and the program experience includes pre-session assignments, we encourage you to enroll as far in advance as possible.

Now Enrolling: May 8 & 9, 2014 June 5 & 6, 2014

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE EXPERIENCE?

An accomplished artist will present their work and describe the methods of their personal creative process. Then you will be guided through a series of hands-on activities . The experience is designed to immerse you in your own creative process, revealing what constrains and propels your creativity. Our expert facilitator will lead discussions that will deepen your un-derstanding of the creative principles and practices that are covered, and “connect the dots” between the exercises and the relevance to your work and life.

To kick-off your Innovation Institute experience, your facilitator will schedule a one-on-one phone call prior to your session. The conversation will help identify your personal learning objectives and jump-start your thinking about how and where you can apply what you learn. An optional 30-minute post-session call with the facilitator is also included in the program.

“ Creative thinking is at the heart of what we do at Wray Ward. The Innovation Institute

engaged me deeply in the artist’s creative process providing hands-on experience into the

behaviors required for sustainable creative leadership.”
