ffective classes demand time and commitment to plan. Your objective is to

make your class interesting just as much as it is informative. Below are a few

things to remember when preparing for your classes.

Find out your pupils

Pupils learn in different ways and some also learn more quickly than others. Determine

which teaching strategies will be helpful for your class overall and anticipate what

modifications you might need to make to encourage students who are having difficulties

or not that motivated in class.

Make classroom interaction more meaningful

Firstly, try to familiarize the names of your pupils. Make an effort to also make yourself

available to hear out students’ concerns about the lessons discussed in class. It would

be useful to pupils if you are more encouraging since it makes them feel that a lesson,in

spite of being difficult, can be mastered. It also makes them to try things out by

themselves and be successful at it. And once they are successful, be quick to

congratulate them on their feats.

Make clear and sensible targets

Effective teachers set high standards for their pupils. They are also capable of

articulating clear and sensible objectives. Pupils need to know upfront what they are

supposed to learn and what they they are expected to do with the things they learned.

Boost participation

Some pupils are participate more in class than others. They are seated at the front, and

are the quickest to raise their hands to respond to questions. While others are eager to

participate, others are disengaged. As a way to

tackle the widening achievement gap in classrooms,

give opportunities for all pupils to participate. Rather

than having your students bring up their hands to

respond to questions, use a random approach to

picking a student. You can write each student's

name on lollipop stick and randomly get one from a bowl. This will make your class

more interactive and motivate everyone to study their lessons since there is always that

potential for them getting called. Alternatively, instead of having just one student

respond to your question, you can require your entire class to write the answer to a

question concurrently. You may give students with individual whiteboards for this. Using

this strategy, you can easily measure whether the class overall gets your lesson.

Make classes more interesting with activities

You can design activities to facilitate students' understanding and improve their

retention of the lesson. Activities will help facilitate discussion, address misconceptions,

and link disparate pieces of information together. Classroom activities can also

demonstrate how lessons can be employed beyond the classroom. Wish to make your
