This project focuses on the stages of the pre-production process for animation. The intention of the creation of style frames for different themes is to create material to be used as a base for the production of the senior animation project. It will be required to create two fully developed concept ideas for thesis, with this including style frames, storyboards, animatics, proof of concept (motion studies), and sound design. Every material created for these two concepts will be used next year within the Senior Porject Class.

wishes for my niece Coralys Michelle

concept statementWe can change our lives. We can do, have, and be exactly what we wish. What would you wish for the person you love most? This concept is based off of simple authentic hopes and wishes for a specific child, my niece (the person i love most). It is the idea of what I see her life to be as simple blessings and what I want her to experience.

project descriptionI imagine this animation in the style of paper cut animation done in cinema 4d. The animation will start going through frames and from there it would go over all my wishes for my niece through different transitions, but still having a common element.


agape a collaboration with Javier Aparicio Lorente

concept statementAgape is the love for others without seeking any personal direct benefit, it is being selfless and caring for the ones around you. This animations aims to aspire people to inspire, to act with love for others through different small exercises of agape in our daily lifes.

project descriptionThis animation will be divided into different frames set in a exhibition. Each frame will interact with each other and different acts of agape and kindness will be filmed in Live Action and 3D abstract shapes, representing the love taking place, will move around the footage. This composited footage will be painted frame by frame to achieve a painterly, fluid and lively style.

solidarity new friends (narrative)

concept statementThe only good thing about losing a friend is having the opportunity to find new ones.

project descriptionThe animation will follow the story of a little girl who spent all summer sharing secrets and hanging with her best friend,the tree near her home, but when her tree gets cut down, she must seek for a new best friend despite her sadness for the tree.


worldlyframes

“aminals” by Baths

music video treatment This song is spectacular and wondrous; therefore the music video should be too. The video will be buoyant and lively but rich and serene at the same time. It will take you into the clouds and different wondrous places just like the song.

The music video will start out with an establishing shot of what looks like an ordinary wall with ordinary frames, but as soon as the song picks ups and says “I’d like to look closer”, we will zoom into one of the frames and commence travelling into the different worlds it has to offer.

We will travel in and out through these different frame worlds, while they interact with each other and the same time, making it a relaxing and absolutely essential journey. We will encounter animals of all kinds, energetic and exciting structures, and many other exhilarating effects. The video will end with a zoom out of the camera, going back to its original establishing shot as though nothing ever happened and a fade to black.

project descriptionThis animation is an examination of myself. It will go through some of my life experiences and some of the things I am most fascinated with.


context living environment (exploration)

concept statementEverything starts small, and just because it wouldn’t normally be there it doesn’t mean its not. Small things come unnoticed and become their own world within ours and adapting to our world.

project descriptionDifferent 3d elements will be showing up in different environments, representing the unnoticed things living with us in our world. Compositing and video footage will be used in this animation.


growth forestial land (self-portrait)

concept statementThe clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness. For in trees all our wisdom is stored and there is always music amongst the trees in the garden, but our hearts must be very quiet to hear it.

project descriptionDiscovery of my own forest. This animation will go through an abstract forest, while encountering new things on its journey. It will be done in cineme 4d and aAfter Effects.


burst “the king of mushrooms”(adaptation)

Once upon a time some men out hunting for mushrooms in the forest found one that was bigger than any they had ever seen before. They began pulling it out of the ground when a little old man sprang out from under it. No larger than a finger he was with a beard twice that size. The little old man rushed off but the men ran after him. They caught him and asked who he was.

Said the littl old man:

I am King of all the mushrooms growing in this forest.”


deceived mistaken love

concept statementLove comes in all shapes and sizes, even when it comes to animals.

project descriptionThey say there is no mistaken love, but when a sheep falls in love with a cloud there are plenty mistakes. This animation follows the story of Shane the sheep, who will stop at nothing to get the cloud to love him back. He will attempt everything, including getting on a trampoline to try to reach her.
