THE «YOUTH IN ACTION»

PROGRAMME„Youth in Action” (YIA) is a community Program that

supports non-formal learning activities for young people. It is

managed by the National Agency from each participant

country, being the „successor” of the „Youth” Program. This program is implemented in

2007-2013 and it has a total budget of 885 million Euro.

The Program objectives are:

• to promote active citizenship in general and European citizenship in particular among young people;

• to develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people, in particular to contribute to the social cohesion in the European Union; • to support mutual understanding between young people from different countries;

• to improve the quality of support systems for youth activities and youth organizations capacity of civil society; • to promote European cooperation in the youth field.

What is YiA promoting? Program priorities are:

• European citizenship

• Active participation of young

• Cultural diversity

• Inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities

How does it work?

and What is « This Is The Way We Dance & Live» ?

HISTORY !The idea emerged in around September of 2011 first with Turkiye, Poland and Spain.Then, Romania, Latvia and

Estonia joined in . After two unlucky trials , the application was approved as a result of

insistant, ambitious demonstrations in front of the

Turkish National Agency’s door;)

Turkiye is the applicant promoter namely the coordinator of this

project . Poland, Spain,Romania, Latvia and Estonia are called

partner promoters.

In connection with the Youth In Action priorities , with our project we will be aiming to encourage our youngsters to get involve in

the activities regarding : European citizenship

Active participation of young Cultural diversity

Inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities

We would like to create consciousness in youngsters’ mind about the “cultural degenerations”

and “all kinds of unhealthy life styles” by the way of activities

related to healthy living at the same time preserving cultural values and establishing tolerance to the other

cultures of Europe.

We will be focusing on ‘Traditional Dances’ as a tool to achieve our goals and we have already got the first part of it

till now by making them create films to teach a traditional dance to the pair country.

We would especially like to involve young people with

fewer socio-economic opportunities in this

exchange project to give them a chance to have, maybe, a unique experience in their

lives!

and these are some of the activities we are planning to realise during the exchange:

Paintball, - Seminar on ‘How to live a healthy life’,

- Daily physical exercises,- Making an interview with uni students,

- Sports competitions multicultural ,- Practising folk dances,

- City game,- Discovering the traditional values,

- Touristic Excursions,- Cultural Nights,

- Final Mini Dance Feast together with all participants.
