We strive to bring a boutique level of service to our clients by operating as a “firm within the firm.” We believe this is best achieved through a team of financial professionals who share a common investment philosophy, with each offering unique and varying skill sets. Through a bottom-up approach, we provide customized financial solutions, utilizing the vast resources of a global, full-service financial firm. Beginning with a complete financial analysis, together we develop spending and investment policies, asset allocation models, specific investment recommendations and ultimately a system to monitor progress. This approach allows us to adapt to changes in circumstances in the markets, as well as to the goals of our clients. The Williams Benson Group at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney currently oversees $1.9 billion on behalf of approximately 250 active relationships.

The Way We Do Business

Our process is designed to integrate each client’s investment objectives with pressing financial concerns and desired aspirations by looking at the totality of his or her life. You can expect that we will guide you through the following steps:

steP 1: setting Your Financial oBJectivesWe personally meet with you and help you articulate what you want your wealth to accomplish. This intensive dialogue helps us to learn about your current and future liabilities, income sources and cash-flow needs. We then discuss circumstances that might influence your overall strategy, including tolerance for risk, tax concerns, liquidity needs and time horizon. Finally, we determine where there might be gaps that stand between you and your goals and try to find the smart strategies to help you meet those needs.

steP 2: creating Your Plan Once we have had the chance to discuss your objectives, we develop a financial plan that contains specific recommendations designed to meet those goals. Our recommendations may touch upon issues such as retirement planning, business continuation, tax minimization and wealth transfer. You also will receive a customized asset-allocation plan that helps to ensure that the most advantageous diversification strategies are identified.

steP 3: iMPleMenting Your PlanAfter presenting you with a detailed strategy for your portfolio, we work closely with you to bring the elements to life. Should we decide that a professionally managed investment approach is appropriate for you, we will access Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s considerable resources to select from the hundreds of investment management firms competing for your business the ones that align closely with your set of financial objectives. Or perhaps you’d prefer individual securities; if so, we can identify specific securities from the universe of investments that may be suitable for your portfolio. Whatever approach you select, we will be there to encourage maintaining the discipline needed to help you reach your goals.

steP 4: Monitoring Your PerForManceAs you would expect, we believe that ongoing communication is essential. We make necessary efforts to keep on top of your changing financial needs. This means monitoring your portfolio at your request, and when you feel that your circumstances have changed, we will try to make certain that your assets are positioned according to your evolving needs. If necessary, we will recommend adjustments to your strategy to address any alterations to your objectives.

Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss.

*The ranking process begins with a survey of top securities firms, insurance companies, banks, independent financial advisory practices and other organizations that employ Series 7 registered Financial Advisors. Each of these firms must promote objective and independent advice with open architecture access to financial products and services. The rankings are based on qualitative criteria: professionals with a minimum of seven years’ financial services experience, acceptable compliance records, client retention reports and customer satisfaction reports. Advisors are quantitatively ranked based on varying types of revenues and assets advised by the financial professional, with weightings associated for each. Additional qualitative measures include: in-depth interviews and discussions with senior management, peers and customers. Because individual client portfolio performance varies and is typically unaudited, this ranking focuses on customer satisfaction and quality of advice. Please see www.WCorg.com for more information.
