October 2014 Highlights 2 SAVED! —Billy & Jane celebrate 27 years of marriage!

Page 2 THE SAMPSONS

After finishing the revival in Colorado, my wife Jane and I celebrated our 27th year of marriage on October 3, 2014. Our girls were with us as well, so we decided since we were off that day, and in between meetings we visited The Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona for the 1 day. I must say it is the most beautiful place I have ever visited. As soon as I saw it, the song, “How Great Though Art,” went through my mind. Tears welled up in my eyes when I first saw it, because I realized only God could have created such magnificent beauty. We so enjoyed this day with our family. I am so blessed to have Jane as my wife. She has been my silent partner in our 13 years of full time ministry together. There is no way I could have done this without her. I love her more everyday.

I began revival at the 1st Baptist Church of Prescott Valley, in Prescott Valley, Ari-zona on October 5, 2014. This is the sec-ond year in a row we came out west. It has been a major prayer of mine to come out west and preach. I have asked God to open doors for my family out west, and He is doing it. This church has had major heart break since I was there in 2013. Their pastor Herb Stoneman went home to be with the LORD in May of 2014. On the day of the funeral their assistant pastor died at the funeral with a massive heart attack just after leaning over the casket of pastor Stomeman and saying, “Pastor we will meet again in heaven someday.” He took his seat, and 30 seconds later met pastor in heaven! It is one of the most unique stories I have ever heard. The revival got off to what I feel was a slow start. It seemed I was climbing a mountain with not very good liberty. I begged God to do something for these folks. I felt they needed to hear from the LORD. Finally on Tuesday night, God began to move. On the last night of the meeting, a young man was gloriously saved! This young man asked the church for strength. Why you ask? On Sunday I was asked to pray for a man that was a Universalist. A Universalist basically be-lieves that religion dictates the moral code in people who practice religion, and that, “universally,” all of man kind will get to see the one true God, because mankind in his own way is trying to seek God the best way they can. Obviously that is TOTALLY CONTRARY to the BIBLE! During the invitation just before I finished preaching the young man that was saved, HIS FATHER, the universalist we were praying for, slipped in the back during the end of the service. I had no at the time of who he was. I had never met him. As I gave the invitation HIS SON came forward and was saved!

His father saw the entire thing! GLORY! The young man gave a testimony to pray for strength, and that HIS FAMILY would also be SAVED. When the ser-vice was over I was informed that the young mans father was the one who walked in that night during the invitation. When they left that night, I was shaking hands with everyone, and told that young man of how proud I was of him. Needless to say the father seemed to stare a death hole right through me. Before the young man left he said, “Thank you preacher for preaching the truth...Please pray for my family.” Halle-lujah! God broke through in that meet-ing. Pray for that young man, and espe-cially his daddy. After the meeting in Arizona, I left for Santa Fe, New Mexico, to start revival at Temple Baptist Church, and pastor Jim Velazquez. We had a great revival there as well. One man that the LORD still has me praying for, is a man that raised his hand during the invitation admitting he was lost. I tried to per-suade him to come and pray, and he shook his head several times and telling me, “No.” He obviously wanted to be saved, but Satan is holding him back. I am not sure of his name, but God knows his name. Please pray for his salvation. Thank the LORD another man was saved on Tuesday night, and many were encouraged. If you’re ever in the Santa Fe, NM area visit Temple Baptist Church. Some of the sweetest folks you’ll ever meet.

Jane and I celebrated our 27th

anniversary at the Grand Canyon national park with the girls on Oc-

tober 3, 2014. We were in be-tween meetings. I started revival

After coming home from a meeting in South Carolina the end of October, we came home to vote in the senate election, and to celebrate my Dad’s 75th birthday. I can say, that I have the best Dad ever. He is , and has always been an inspiration to me. He is the reason I love music, he is the reason I love to study the Bible. He is the reason I have the work ethic I do. He has taught Sunday School for over 45 years. He has been a faithful deacon and help to many pastors still to this day. He is a genuine hero in my book. I LOVE YOU DAD! Just after that celebration, we went to Arkansas to retrieve our Sprinter Van. (FULL STORY ABOUT THE VAN ON BACK SECTION OF THIS NEWSLETTER) We picked up our van after a major engine repair in Fort Smith, Arkansas and headed 700 miles south to Berlin, Georgia. I began a revival at Berlin Baptist Church for pastor Clyde Bill-ingsly. This is the 2nd year in a row that I did revival for this pastor and church. This meeting was far different then last years meeting.

Me and my Dad on July 4, 2013

at a family picnic.

One church member stated after the revival, “We ran the Devil out of Georgia!” I agree! Tremendous liberty every night. The highlight of this meeting, is about a family that just moved to the area from New York. The husband’s job trans-ferred to this small town, and they hadn’t lived there long. They have 2 small children and decided they needed to start coming to church. After coming for about 3 or 4 months, they were beginning to come more frequently. On the Sunday night of the revival the mother of the 2 young kids got saved! It was amazing! She brought her husband with her on Monday night. As we celebrated again that night of her being saved, little did I know that God was working on her husband. She had even hoped that night that he would give his heart to Christ. He did not get saved on Monday night, and he did not come back on Tuesday night. But on the last night of the revival, during the invitation, Holy Ghost conviction fell on this man and he too was gloriously saved that evening. After the service was over with they begin to explain to me that he was actually convicted on Monday night and that the LORD prompted him to be saved Monday night, but he left rejecting the LORD’S invi-tation to simply come. “Thank God,” he said, that he came back on Wednesday night. He said he just couldn’t take it anymore. He knew God was calling. So now this new family to the area has joined the church, and both have been saved. I pray now for the 2 young children to be next! I am booked to preach again for 2015.

I then left for Fruitland Park, Florida to begin revival at the Countryside Baptist Church, and pastor John Stricklen. This church was started about 10 years ago, and is now be-ginning to take flight. It is growing and doing great. Just 40 miles north of Orlando. The meeting was wonderful, and lives I believe were touched and changed. If you are ever looking for a great church near the retire-ment area of The Villages, may I suggest Countryside Baptist Church. They are build-ing a brand new building right now, and growing everyday! We got home from our 8 week fall schedule in time for Thanksgiving with family, and then began our 19 Christmas concerts in December. We began raising money for the Mercy Project. A ship that Dr. Gary Moore has purchased to establish a floating medi-cal clinic that will benefit people in Central and South America.. So far they have raised over $150,000.00 towards the ship. We were able to raise close to $1500.00 for this project with our concerts in December. The best part is on the last concert at Friendship Baptist in LaPorte, IN a young man was saved! 2014 ended in great fashion! We are looking forward to 2015!

Pastor John Striklen and I during the revival at Countryside Baptist in Fruitland Park, FL. Also the new church being built, and being attached to the existing building. It’s going to be awe-some when it’s finished! Please pray for them!

50,000 miles a year for 13 years straight, certainly can take a toll on your vehicle. I have blown engines, transmis-sions, and rear-ends in our vehicles over the years. After over 1 million miles in ministry you just have to expect breakdowns. They are never fun, and they seem to be more costly every time. But NONE have been more costly then what happened to us on October 15, 2014. After leaving the revival in Santa Fe, NM, and heading to Loudon, TN. to attend my aunts funeral, my Dodge/Mercedes Sprinter Van that many of you helped us to customize 2 short years ago blew it’s engine in Fort Smith, Arkansas. After Dodge assessed the damage they determined that the #2 piston lost compression for some rea-son. They reported the worst news possible...I needed a new engine. When they told me it was $17, 047.01 I was in shock! How could an engine cost so much? Because the engine is a Mercedes Turbo Diesel. We checked our-selves into a local hotel with no idea on how the van was going to be fixed. Our family prayed, and left it in the LORDS HANDS. The 1st call I received was from someone that I cant reveal to you who it was. He is a business owner that told me he would guarantee the money right away, but he had to have his money back in 6 months. Well that was great that I could immediately get it fixed, but where in the world am I coming up with $17,000.00 in the next 6 months? I called Dodge and told them to go ahead with the repair. The next call I received was from Dr. Tim Sims and Be-thel Baptist Church in Shelby, NC that was sending a check for $4200.00 to help us! From that moment forward, God’s people began to come to our rescue. Churches, and individuals from all over the country began to come to our aid. $5.00, $10.00, $20,00 donations were coming in so fast I couldn’t hardly keep track. Within in 4 weeks, the entire amount of money had come in!!! GLORY!!! HALLELUJAH!!!! The bill has been paid the van is setting in my driveway, and I have already put 3000 miles on the new motor! Take that DEVIL! I want to thank each and every person, and supporting church for being so kind and generous to our family. You will never know on this side of eternity how this increased not only my families faith, but the faith of so many others. It caused our family to realize just how much people love us, and believe in what we are doing for the cause of Christ. It has given me a, “New sense of commitment,” going into 2015 then ever before. I will forever be indebted to your commitment to our family. From the bottom of my heart and my families heart thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! We love you all, and cherish each of you for helping us to go another mile preaching and singing the gospel to one more soul. To God Be the GLORY! GREAT THINGS HE HATH DONE!
