There’s no more challenging—or rewarding—volunteer position in the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) than

being a chapter leader. Chapters are the heart and soul of our organization, and chapter leaders bear the responsibility for

leading the profession in their communities, including developing important programs throughout the year, responding to

colleagues and implementing our key international strategic initiatives on the local level.

That’s why we created the Leadership Academy—to help guide and inspire our chapter leaders throughout the year. At the

Academy, we come together, as leaders, advisors, mentors and colleagues, to help plan the coming year, provide

professional development for our leadership, take in new perspectives and reinvigorate ourselves about the important

contributions that fundraising—and local AFP chapters—make towards improving the quality of life for all people.
