Worship Assistants Thanks be to God for those who volunteer to be worship assistants during the service. There are people who greet you as you come in the door, give you a bulletin, light the candles, read the lessons, lead the psalm, take up the offering, help with the distribution of communion, and ensure you can hear the pastor and reader during the service. If you would like to help by serving as a worship assistant, please contact Gloria Bockelman or the church office to volunteer and be trained!

Habitat for Humanity Faith Build Fundraising Update

We are almost to our basic goal AND closing in on our challenge goal of $3750! There are only a few weeks left to raise funds in our partnership with other congregations in the community for the Habitat Faith Build that will be starting soon in the Mossy Oaks neighborhood. Lutheran World Relief Quilting Day THIS Tuesday, July 24, 10 am

Anyone with a warm heart and willing hands is encouraged to participate. No sewing experience is needed. Bring a bag lunch and be prepared for a great day of quilting and fellowship. Meets in the Music Room.

Family Promise Sunday, July 29-August 5

Family Promise provides housing and meals for families who have lost their homes and are working to get their lives back on track. Our opportunity to help families in need starts July 29. Sign up in the Narthex. We are happy to host again with St. Peter’s Catholic, St. Mark’s Episcopal, and Lady’s Island Baptist churches. See Perry Dukes, Candace Camp, or Ann Nizzi with questions.

Knitting Group Wednesday, July 25, 3-5 pm

The knitting group will meet this Wednesday in the Mission building. Please join them in knitting items for children in need. All are welcome, those who can knit and those who

can’t, but want to learn. Meets in the Mission Building.

Youth Picnic and Outing to Hunting Island State Park

Sunday, August 12, noon-4 pm Sign-up Required

All entering grades 6-12 are invited, but you must sign up so we can plan drivers. A picnic lunch will be served and we will play on the beach. Bring your bathing suit, towel, and sunscreen to church with you that day. Register: www.SJBft.org/YouthSignUp

Annual Picnic at Sergeant Jasper Park August 19, 2-6 pm

This picnic is for all ages and everyone is invited to participate! We will meet at Sergeant Jasper Park, 1458 Red Dam Road, Hardeeville, SC. The picnic shelter has been reserved for us. Jim Palmer will be grilling-all are asked to bring an accompaniment or dessert to share. Mark your calendar, you won’t want to miss it.
