Supporting Scriptures1st Corinthians 16:15

I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and [that] “they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,”)

1st Corinthians 12:25-27

That there should be no schism in the body; but [that] the “members should have the same care one for another”. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

2nd Corinthians 5:20

Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: “we pray [you] in Christ's stead”, be ye reconciled to God.

2nd Corinthians 8:1-14

Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. For to [their] power, I bear record, yea, and beyond [their] power [they were] willing of themselves; Praying us with much intreaty “that we would receive the gift, and [take upon us] the fellowship of the ministering to the saints”. And [this they did], not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God. Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also. “Therefore, as ye abound in every [thing, in] faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and [in] all diligence, and [in] your love to us, [see] that ye abound in this grace also”. I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love. For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. And herein I give [my] advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago. Now therefore perform the doing [of it]; that as [there was] a readiness to will, so [there may be] a performance also out of that which ye have. For if there be first a willing mind, [it is] accepted according to that a man hath, [and] not according

to that he hath not. For [I mean] not that other men be eased, and ye burdened: But by an equality, “[that] now at this time your abundance [may be a supply] for their want, that their abundance also may be [a supply] for your want:” that there may be equality:

John 5:39

“Search the scriptures”; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and “they are they which testify of me”.

John 1:1-14

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and “the Word was God”. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name [was] John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all [men] through him might believe. He was not that Light, but [was sent] to bear witness of that Light. [That] was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. “And the Word was made flesh”, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 1:1-14

In the beginning the Word already existed; the Word was with God, and the Wordwas God. From the very beginning the Word was with God. Through him God made all things; not one thing in all creation was made without him. The Wordwas the source of life, and this life brought light to people. The light shines in thedarkness, and the darkness has never put it out. God sent his messenger, a man named John, who came to tell people about the light, so that all should hear the message and believe. He himself was not the light; he came to tell about the light. This was the real light the light that comes into the world and shines on all people. The Word was in the world, and though God made the world through him, yet the world did not recognize him. He came to his own country, but his own people did not receive him. Some, however, did receive him and believed in him; so he gave them the right to become God's children. They did not become God's children by natural means, that is by being born as the children of a human father; God himself was their Father. “The Word became a human being and, full of grace and truth, lived among us”. We saw his glory, the glory which he received as the Father's only Son.
