The rule of thirds and the 180 rule
The rule of thirds and the 180 rule Rule of thirdsDefinition Therule of thirdsis applied by aligning a subject with the guide lines and their intersection points, placing the horizon on the top or bottom line, or allowing linear features in the image to flow from section to section. It is used to make the photograph look better and more sleek.
The 180 rule Definition: In film making, the 180-degree ruleis a basic guideline regarding the on-screen spatial relationship between a character and another character or object within a scene. It is to make a conversation between people look more natural AND AUTHENTIC. THE CAMERAS ARE SET UP TO SHOW THAT THE PEOPLE ARE FACING EACHOTHER AND HAVING AN ACTUAL CONVERSATION. THE 180 RULE CAN BE BROKEN, BUT IT NEEDS TO BE DONE WELL AS IT CAN LOOK UNREALISTIC AND FAKE.
MY EXAMPLES: ASHMEE (BROWN HAIR) IS LOOKING TO THE AUDIENCES RIGHT.JESS (BLONDE HAIR) IS LOOKING TO THE AUDIENCES LEFT.THIS IMPLIES THAT THEY ARE LOOKING AT EACHOTHER WHEN THE CUTS ARE MADE. THIS HELPS TO SHOW THE AUDIENCE THEY ARE HAVING A CONVERSATION.
