• The Roman colliseum is an anphitheater built in the first century.

• It had strong religious elements ,but it was a demostration of family power.

• It has been destroyed many times and built again.

UsesIt was used to distract people

with fightbetween gladiators armeds with swords, nets, shields and tridents.In the fights

sometimes it appeared the wildest animals of the

world .

The gladiators and punisheds

• The gladiators were prisioners of war and criminals that fought with the servants when those were punished by their bosses.

Punishers were killed sometimes by the lions.

Characteristics

·The floor was made of wood and the roof was made of wool.

It has capacity for a lot of people(50.000).

Below the wood there were tunnels where the animals,gladiators and punishers were.
