The Parks Festival (5th & 6

th September)

Due to the Influenza A ‘bug’ and a stress fracture in my knee, I missed one of our highlights of the year, The Parks Festival. All reports from parents and staff were glowing. We are so proud of our children’s accomplishments.

Many thanks to those very committed staff-members who gave many personal hours to ensure that our children were really prepared, Arthi Naidu, Kate Dickson, Bita Christos, Emmie McLaren, Katerina Liapis, Katelyn Moore and Victoria Auraha.

Commemoration of the Battle of Australia Phoung Bui accompanied our student leaders to McCarthy Memorial Park last Wednesday morning to represent our school at the commemoration. 11th Sept, 2017 Issue 15

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Welcome to Spring! We are headed for some pleasant weather over the next week or so. However, I would re-mind parents to check that their children have jackets in their bags. Last week, when I was farewelling some senior children to the dance and choir rehearsals I sent at least 6 to find a jacket or cardigan in lost property. It was less than 10 degrees! Let us prevent further illness! Fathers’ and Significant Others day. Once again thank you to our committed P & C members who ensured that every child had opportunity to pur-chase a gift for their ‘special someone’ on Fathers’ Day. The stall was a great success and raised $1780.65 It was also lovely to see a few fathers join us for breakfast on 1

st September, It

was our first try and we hope it will grow in popularity. Again thanks to the P&C for this opportunity. Grill’d-What a support! Many, many thanks to the Grill’d staff who provided labour and resources to upgrade our Preschool garden. Julia Enders organised the day, ordered burgers for our staff and ensured that we won the $300 first prize for the best school support. We are fortunate to have such great local helpers and they make a delicious burger! Jersey Day A great success raising $700.00 for Westmead Childrens Hospital. Congratulations to Victoria Auraha and her organising team. New P& C President and executive members As signalled in the last newsletter, our P&C President, Julia Enders resigned. She is now undertaking a leading role in grant opportunities. At the P&C meeting on the 4

th September an election was held. These were the

results:- Jodie Baker (V.P) was elected President. Cindy Do Santos (Secretary) was elected Vice President. Karen Waghorn was elected Secretary.

Congratulations to the 3 Ladies who were elected unopposed. They will hold these roles until the AGM in December. NB: the next P&C meeting is Monday, 9

th October at 9.15am after the children’s assembly.
