Fir~t started harnming in 1924 with the call 6DAX in Leng Beach, Califo I was 16 years eld at that time and with the u~ual amount ef meney. (nil) By trading etc a fellQW cG>uld get a few parts and make a fsw and put a signal en the air. My statien consisted ef a twe tube regen receiver and a pair of 210s in parallel with a seup rectifier. Then as now DXing was the thing but it censisted ef the 9 US districts, and it was an event ef note t o werk a first dis­trict station. I went QRT in 1928 and did net get back te ham radio until 1957.

Received the call of W6UDR in June of 1957 and went en the air Nov. 22, 1957. As is customary these days I purchased a factory built station consi111ting of a 75A4 and a Viking 500 xmtr and a W3DZZ beam and had the boys in my ~hop build a crank up 80 1 tower. The natural thing was to go DXing and was able to make DXCC the first 5 months. However I found it necessary to sell my business in June of 58 so I went QRT again. I bought another business in Steckton and after building a new h0me I was able te get back on the air at the present QTtl in August ef 59o In June ef 60 I seld the 500 and purchased the HT32A for SSB and built a KW amplifier using a 4-lOOOA. G8t it going in Jan ef 61 and have net had any desire to change since then. Antennas are a HY 7 stacked over the W3DZZ on the 80 1 tower. I recently installed a radial ground system fer these beams. I stay on CW en 20 and 40 about 100%. I am 53 years eld and am ewner-eperator of a Farm Machinery businesso Present DX scere is 157/177, WAZ and WPX 338/37lo
