This continuing medical education activity is also made possible by generous educationalgrantsandcommercialexhibitsfromvariouscompanieswhowillberecognized at the event.

In 1982, Dr. Mohsen Ziai became the Chairman of Pediatrics at Inova Fairfax Hospital, inspiring the physician community with his vision of a children’s hospital in Northern Virginia. His 17 years as Chairman of Pediatrics produced rapid growth including establishment of the only PICU in Northern Virginia, the opening of the Women’s and Children’s Building, the inception of the Inova Pediatric Center, the initiation of the pediatric cardiac surgery program, and establishment of a pediatric residency program. The establishment in his honor of this continuing medical education conference is a natural extension of Dr. Ziai’s approach to the promotion of child health through service to the community.
