The Eyepiece/ Ocular
• Contains Lenses
Base
• Supports weight of microscope
Mirror
• Reflects light upward through diaphragm and hole in stage
Stage
• Supports slide over hole that admits light from mirror below.
Arm
• Supports the body tube and course adjustment.
Fine Adjustment
• Permits exact focusing
Coarse Adjustment
• Move body tube up and down, approximately to the correct distance from the specimen.
Body Tube/ Nosepiece
• Holds lenses of ocular and objective at the proper distance form each other.
Stage Clips
• Holds specimen slide in place.
Objective Lenses
• Lenses of different magnifications.
• The longer ones are the higher power and the shorter ones are lower in power.
Diaphragm
• Regulates the amount of light passing through the specimen.
