The Lion's Roar 1 The Lion's Roar Alpha Omega Academy September 2013 Caroline’s Corner  PTF President Wow! Another school year here at AOA. This year brings many changes in my life. #1: My baby started kindergarten this year. If you see me crying, you'll know why. #2: My two older children are playing sports here. #3: We're moving. I have a lot on my plate right now, but God is so good and He's carrying me through this season. Philippians 4:7 comes to mind, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." What a blessing for my children to be educated here, but more importantly, what a comfort for me to know the teachers care about my children's salvation. Isn't that the most important thing? "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments; for this is the whole duty of man," Ecclesiastes 12:13 and Matthew 16:26 "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" My family is blessed to be here, and we hope you feel the same way too. If you need anything, please let me or someone on the PTF Board know. We are here to serve you!  In His Name, Caroline Oleinik Spirit Golf Tournament Informational Meeting Thursday, September 5 th , 6pm The Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship, October 28 th - November 2 nd , is a world class golf event featuring the world's best amateur men and amateur women from over 20 different countries.  AOA has been asked to provide volunteers f or this event. For each person who volunteers, AOA will receive a cash donation from the Spirit Golf  Association. These proceeds will provide AOA with funds designated for athletics, fine arts, and other student activities.  An information meeting wil l be held on Thursday, September 5 th at 6:00pm. Come and see how you can participate in this amazing volunteer opportunity. All volunteers will receive a complimentary Spirit golf polo. PTF Membership A pizza party will be given to the first class with 100% participation. What is the PTF? PTF stands for Parent Teacher Fellowship. At Alpha Omega Academy, parents and teachers work together to accomplish the educational goals that AOA is striving to achieve. The Parent-Teacher Fellowship (PTF) was created to encourage this cooperation. Join the PTF Membership in PTF is open to all families, staff members, and friends of Alpha Omega Academy. Box Tops Contest 

Bring Box Tops by: Tuesday, October 15th 

It’s a classroom competition!

The classes (K-8th

) that collect the most Box Topswill win a prize. Grades 9

th-12th will be awarded

House Points to the winning House!

Box Tops for Education can be found on manyproducts that are used at home and school. All youhave to do is clip these, regular Box Tops, extra BoxTops, and Bonus Box Tops. Put your collected BoxTops in an envelope or baggie and send them toschool with your child. Grades K-8th will turn them intotheir homeroom teacher and grades 9th -12th will turnthem into their House Dean.

This is “free money” for  AOA. Last year AOA raisedseveral thousand dollars with these “little pieces of paper ”.

There will be three collection dates this year:

October 15th

May 1st

SYATP - See You At The Pole Wednesday, September 25 

th  Gather around our new AOA flagpole before schoolstarts on Wednesday, September 25th. Studentswill pray for their school, teachers, administrators,

nation, and the leaders of our country before schoolstarts.

Thank you to Adam Hunsaker, 9 th grade, whodesigned and installed the flagpole area as part of his Eagle Scout Project.

Coke Points

Collect the codes from the carton packages or lids of your favorite Coca-Cola products and put them in thecollection bucket in the lunch room.

Where do I find Coke Reward codes?Turn in the caps from all size bottles of all Cokeproducts.The twelve can packs, or larger, have a tear-off onthe end of the package.The 36 can packages have a black 2” x 3” square onthe plastic overwrap.
