In the death of Dr. Arthur Ewing, Founder and Principal of the Christian College, Allahabad, the cause of Missions to Muslims has lost a strong helper. A student of the Arabic language and the literature of Islam, a preacher of great spiritual force, an orator and n master of philosophy and logic, he had already demonstrated his ability as a teacher and leader in the campaign against the forces of Islam. One year ago he gave course of lectures in Mussoorie, addressed to Missionaries, which was much appreciated. Standing as he did, at the head of a great Christian College in one of the capitals of the Great Mogul, it was not. possible for Dr. Ewing to avoid the conflict with Islam. He had prepared himself for it, and was already engaged in the direct work of Muslim evangelization. Had he lived, he would have been a strong factor in the School for training Missionaries.
