"The Jester Has Lost His Jingle" was written and illustrated by David Saltzman as his senior project at Yale University before his death in 1999, at age 22, from Hodgkin's disease. In the story a court jester awakens one day to find laughter missing in the kingdom and he sets out with his friend Pharley to find it.
Before he died, Barbara and Joe Saltzman promised their son they would get his book published. When every company they approached turned them down, they went into debt to publish the book themselves. Their belief in their son and the charming tale he wrote, paid off. The book is now in its fifth printing and more than 165,000 Jester books and dolls are in the hands of youngsters facing life threatening diseases and other life obstacles.
Books and Charachters, Drinks and Snacks will be sold during intermission.
