WIC Meeting, 27-30 Jun 2006 The Italian participation

• Science operation center (??)

There is an interest from ASI and INAF.

• MoU between ASI and RosCosmos after the Phase B study, but from interagency high level discussion (March 2006) we are going towards a MoU.

Other issues

Page 13: The Italian participation to the WSO/UV Project

WIC Meeting, 27-30 Jun 2006 The Italian participation

INAF• The Italian Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica was

very hostile toward WSO/UV after the ESA/AWG report on 13 Jan 2006 (ASTRO(2006)3).

• The Italian NWWG produced a document1 and gave a presentation2 to the INAF Science Council to defend the project (science case, recent developments, programmatics).

• We succeeded to obtain the recommendation of WSO/UV in the INAF Long Term Plan.

1. The Italian participation to the WSO/UV Project - A review on the status of

the project for the INAF SC evaluation (April 8th, 2006) 2. The Italian participation to the WSO/UV Project - Presentation to INAF

Science Council, Apr 21th, 2006
